QUOTE(jhcj @ Aug 1 2014, 12:23 PM) i think we give credit where credit is due... personally, i liked evasion prime, so i bought him dinobots, i liked too, but after getting them and playing with them for awhile, decided i didnt really want to keep them and ended up selling them away... My exact feel. I still have my evasion prime, enjoying painting it. Galvatron I still have because I started painting it and no one would want to buy that. Honestly I did like the dinobots at first. Bought it played with them a while, but one day just feel.. like no oomph... so sold to a bro here . I got some money back and hopefully he finds more enjoyment from them than I did.

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 1 2014, 02:02 PM) I dont know about you but I used to buy at least one transformer per movie and always disappointed with it. The quality in general from the movie line are terrible where joints become very loose after 1-2 transformation or the general polishing is terrible where paints are hastily applied on the transformer. Even my 10 years old Beast wars collection is much better build than the recent ones. The transformation are lazily designed that resulted massive backpacks in a lot of transformers while a lot of times, they dont remotely look like what they appear in the movie. This time round, I aint gonna even buy one movie transformer because the price is fairly absurd while the quality is even lower. I dont mind if they stray from the G1 designs as G1 design isnt perfect. There are some decent transformer design from the movie, like how I like Sideswipe's designs, Blackout and a few of the Constructicons. The problem is, the toys are terrible in terms of engineering, polish and quality. If a third party makes a good quality Blackout-like from the movie, I'll be the first one to buy it. I used to watch G1 a lot when I was young but I never really have any issues with IDW, Japanese, Beast Wars or even Animated designs. Each different cartoon franchise has different strength and weaknesses in terms of their character design to their toys but I cant really see much point to justify the purchase of the AoE transformers which I rather save the money for an Alternity, Masterpiece or an overpriced well engineered third party. In fact, I never watched Animated before. I find myself liking their toys a lot because it is very well engineered, sturdy and looks good. It is said that Animated is dead now as I want more of it. Animated's Starscream is still my personal favourite modern Starscream, despite his design and colours is completely different from the G1 designs. Thank god that Masterpiece and third party exist these days. Actually when I first saw the TF Animated cartoon .. I thought hmm those toys prob don't look nice.. But when I saw the toys... gotta say they are one of my favorite lines.

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 1 2014, 02:10 PM) Thats true, they do look childish at a glance but once you hold one in your hands, you can see that these toys are damn well engineered. I am still looking for a Animated Megatron, Soundwave and Optimus Prime. Very tempting to get Skywarp from Famitoy. Soundwave is a quite easy to find I think couple of stores in AMcorp has it.. ToyWiz in amcrop also has some animated stuff also. I think they have the voyager class animated megatron. Skywarp if you don't mind loose 1Toy got sell it for rm 70 . (also got starscream rm 70) . Optimus is a bit harder. Leader class megatron one of the toystores in amcorp also have it. Try and ask Loke Moon Thoe on Facebook

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 5 2014, 02:19 PM) Where did you get yours? I am thinking of picking one up too. Review please. Is the tank "alt" model really that hard to transform? How is the joint between the headmaster and the robot? Heard it is a bit fragile. At first yes.. lol but after a while, you just do some steps out of order from the instructions, i find easier. Hmm the neck joint seems ok to me.. so far.. lol.. now you mention it i'll be careful though haha

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 6 2014, 02:54 PM) I actually dont mind getting a partsformer. Their polishing is pretyy damn close to diecast standards. Feel like buying one now but feel like getting FP's Sludge first. FP sludge according to x2o sometime next month ... Yes i've got to admit that Warden is a real partsformer.. makes me wish the head thing is an after thought where as the tank is the main mode. Changing to tank mode is just detaching some parts.. folding the body into a shape.. and then attaching parts. However they do it right and end up with a pretty solid figure.. In fact can say with the paint apps and how the guns look.. he's a toy that you can put in an acrylic case and ppl will think it is a statue. I was on the fence for a long while also, because of it being parts forming etc etc.. but after seeing it in person, I had to get one and now, no regrets. The Swamper that was in the same shipment however.. sigh.. what a mistake. If you guys are getting Swamper, watch out for paint chips. Mine has it on many places. luckily just the gray areas.. once I find a suitable color will paint over it

QUOTE(cycheah @ Aug 7 2014, 03:15 PM) do you know that the site management for X2o is a female tf collector? There are also a couple of female collectors that I've seen on the TransMY FB page. I think with these type of supposedly male-centric hobbies, female collectors tend to be a bit more low profile etc. Usually if a lady is "discovered" in these type of hobbies, it often results in some very creepy initial testosterone surge.. lol.
