I'm using a notebook and I often use earphones to listen to music or watch movies by plugging it to the headphone jack. The problem is that the volume is still too low even if I drag the volume to maximum and the audio quality is also bad because there isn't any equalizer. Of course it will sound better if I use speakers but I can't take them everywhere I go.
Is there any software or is it even possible for me to increase the volume even more?

Thanks for the replies!
Installed ffdshow but still not sure how it works so I gotta play around with it.
WinAmp does have equalizers but the volume is still kinda low.

it seems to me that your output is just not strong enough to drive your headphones.

Is it soft with ALL your music and sounds?

Most of the time its very soft. But I guess it depends on how the mp3 or video is encoded or something. It might sound soft for some movies but not for others.

It can sound very loud if I plug speakers to the notebook jack and later plug my earphones to the speakers jack though.

for ffdshow:

double click on icon (near clock, bottom right)..
then select volume..
adjust the master volume there..

Thanks! It works! rclxms.gif
But ffdshow only seems to come out when I use Windows Media Player. Is there any way so I can also use it when I'm using VLC player or something?
