Too many off form players on the starting eleven..

Luiz, ramires,

I understand the selection of Hazard but he just back from lengthy injury..two goals were conceded due to his failure to cover the overlapping Juanfran
*
Yeah, perhaps Schurrle should have played as he covers the defend well. But where was Cole when Juanfran was overlapping? Should have went to close him down cause that's more effective than going center.

I think Eto'o sub was a huge mistake, should have brought in Ba instead.

After AM scored the penalty, we actually tried to attack them hard. This is the time when a team like AM can really hurt you with their defending, counter attacking ability and finesse upfront.

Courtois is a beast I'm hoping to see at the Bridge next season. I think he will outperform Cech in less than a season.

Good points from this game were: Torres scored a goal and finally some improvements on Willian's set piece delivery.

Before our tie with AM, I thought Costa would fit the bill to lead our attack but not after seeing him struggle against physical defense (which is what EPL is). Anyway I still think he is a much better finisher than our strikers (except Ba maybe haha)

Balotelli sounds quite good to have. But Zlatan is the one we need.

Regarding Hazard's post match quote. There are clarifications here http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/201...sea-real-madrid

QUOTE
Original Hazard quote: "Chelsea is not made to play football. We are good in playing on the counter attack, a bit like Real against Bayern.

A little harsh and direct from Eden, but moments and critical attitudes like these are what that really improves us. We all know Eden do not take defeats too well. Not even at table football against Matic on ChelseaTV's friday night live (which you should watch to cheer you up, full video could be found on YT)

IMO, Real isn't as scary as some of you guys think. In the match against Bayern, Bale and Ronaldo was scariest only when Real are breaking. Benzema isn't the perfect firing striker as well. That being said, however, Real could really have something to boast about in their defense. But I really wonder how do Real win against the smaller, more defensive teams in La Liga? Our team could really learn from them and AM. Perhaps we miss a consistent playmaker like Modric for RM and Koke & Arda for AM

Ramos is a dream defender IMO.

My take is that we missed our best chance to sign a big strong striker which is gud with both feet when we didn't sign Bony. iinm, in the january transfer window, we were linked with him, but we did not take any action. Should've sign him though.

I still hope Falcao join us.  flex.gif  flex.gif  IF he recovers from his injury and perform as usual la. Don't wan another Torres pls. After back from injury, totally out of form.
*
Bony left foot good?

Bony got some good link up play as well, strong in the air and good balance but just a little too slow. Good finisher as well.

Breaking down the game from Mou's post match comments, he actually thought that Norwich would attack us a lot because they needed the 3 points.

Else we might have seen 2 strikers up front since the start.

Kudos to Norwich.

Shit man.. I hope Cole stay for another season. He's been putting in good performances after coming back from injury.

Shaw is overpriced IMO. But I can settle for PvA as backup to Azpi of course.

Azpi and Kalas as cover for Iva, this means we can rotate when in need and more chances for our youngsters rclxms.gif

I see Courtois homecoming if Cech cant make it for pre season.

I see lampsy and terry staying. Lampsy for another season and terry for as long as he can play like this.

Meanwhile, Liverpool drew Crystal Palace. Awesome comeback by Tony Pullis's side.

Also, CFC U18 won the FA Youth Cup against Fulham by pulling off an amazing 2nd leg comeback.

I think Liverpool were still attacking when they are leading by 3 goals because they want to increase their GD.

Because even if they get the 3 points, they still need some more goals to win the title ahead of City. Hence, the attacking play.

talking about GD.

1-0 is way better than 3-3  smile.gif

I genuinely think Crystal Palace's come back was entirely unexpected in the first place.

But like you said, damage control should be done when CP scored the first, and even more urgent when they scored the second.

I guess it all comes down to the style of play, it eventually becomes the mindset of your players. Which is also why a balanced team like MC wins the league this tine round. Deservedly.

basically, u guys got 4 GKs lar....wan so many for wat? sell oni lar the 2 backups....retain cech + courtois enuff for all competitions.

^ good point franklooi96 but will cech be happy on bench? Saint Iker bench causes uproar and dissatisfaction at times.
*
Dont think there are any of the uproars this season. Both GK seems happy to rotate because both get quite equal match time (also because RM always last very long in cups)

Different story last season when Iker was benched for so long.

remember when cech & cudicini injured on the same match & terry become the gk for the rest of the match?
so we need atleast 3 goalkeeper.. maybe hilario can retire already & we can keep schwarzer for another year..
*
We can't avoid that situation right, IINM? Cudicini was main gk with Cech on the bench. Cudicini injured then Cech sub in and got injured as well.

Unless you bench 2 GKs, you cant really avoid situations like this. And its really really hard to come by anyways. When it comes just laugh and enjoy the match cause its the best we can do tongue.gif

park the bus maybe. 4 chelsea players will be the key.

True story? haha.

Pretty surprised with some selected players like Maxwell, Maicon.

I think Felipe Luis, Lucas Moura and Coutinho should have been selected.

I'm still 50/50 on it.

Yeah, Luiz is a great character in the club, he is a joker, always play around and fool around. Fun to have him around. And on the pitch, it is always no nonsense from him. Terry will retire 1 day, I hope Luiz can stay here long enough to see that day. Then Luiz will partner Cahill as our first choice CB. Come to think of it, he does have the Carvalho feel when he plays at CB. He play kinda like a sweeper.

But if an astronomical fees come from Barca or PSG. Something like 45+ million. Come on. That's too huge sum of money to resist. It might test our determination to keep the player. And also due to ffp, we might just accept the huge bid.

In the end, I hope we keep Luiz. He might not be in the team if we sign a world class midfielder to partner Matic. But he is our future CB starter for sure, Terry's days are numbered. Luiz just need to be patient. Let's see if he is patient enough to wait for his chance or ply his trade else where.
*
Agreed but 45+ million (assuming Euros not pounds) is quite ambitious from us.

I really like Sideshow Bob as a footballer and even more as a person, but I'll be settled if he leaves for 40 mil Euros to a club he wants to go.

I see him staying for the next 2 seasons though. icon_idea.gif
