I see, no reservations then. I'll guess Ill just get the tkl filco first and work my way up, see if what I want is actually the whole experience or just cosmetics. thanks guys
*
I started with a poker 2. imho, if you are just going to buy a good keyboard and settle down, or maybe a few keysets later, filco would be the best choice.
But you are planning to dive deeper, I would recommend you to start off with a acrylic custom board.
some china pcb + acrylic + switches + assemble would cost around 500rm.
later add another 100 to 400rm for keycaps depending on what you are looking for.

100 or 200 more expensive than a filco board, but you get to the whole custom experience. thumbup.gif

I see, that is quite tempting. would the assembly be hard? is there anyone in LYN providing this service? what about the build quality v. the filco be?
*
I have never tried a filco. The assembly is not hard I think sweat.gif
There is groupbuy on 77 layout (poker + numpad layout) at the chinese community

After soldering the GHpad... I also offer assembly. Lube and stickering also can do. If you want, I will sand your acryllic case to give you the frosted look, and I can repaint the top layer for you with the colour of your choice. All services costs money, but I will give you full account.
*
Me too. I also can offer building service. Here's my build sweat.gif

Here's what happened. The used KMAC that I have bought has really loose and shaky (imbalance) space bar. Therefore, I have bought a new set of stabilizer from the groupbuy in EC (GON + hammer), dissemble everything, lube those stabilizer with superlube and assemble everything back. These has solved the problem partially, but the feeling is still not as good as my GON NS87, which was assembled by GON himself.

I sent GON a PM, he told me that those stabilizer has to be tuned, however he's unwilling to reveal the methods. Does anyone know how to tune the stabilizers?

Thank you

you can get Superlube Synthetic Grease 21030 (recommended by 016) from ace hardware. Less than 30RM according to my mum. Way cheaper than taobao icon_rolleyes.gif

i got tamiya grease tongue.gif
just that i didn't put on my ducky yet.
from the looks of it, in order to put it properly, i need to dismantle it and desolder everything.
if i'm going to do that, i'm going to do more mod, such as spraying the case and plate, changing led, not sure about changing switch yet.
until i got my tkl, i won't be touching my ducky yet tongue.gif

also, the ace hardware in penang doesn't carry superlube *pouts* cry.gif
*
I just asked my mum. The ace in ikano has plenty. Just need to make sure those tamiya grease are plastic friendly

What about the easier to get boards at that range?

I would advise you to get a nerd tkl and build it yourself first.
after all, custom keyboard isn't just about expensive aluminum cases, expensive keycaps...

What's with these ridiculous prices? any why is the 356mini only that much  cheaper than a 360corsa? I though the corsa is a TKL board?
*
because there are plenty of corsa
