wow. would you like to run a groupbuy on this? it's hard find a 3d printer with such high resolution no?
*
i don't mind. but have to wait for his finished design i guess. i'll print out two to test quality. if okay then i'll try and paint or something with nail polish?

leaving the eyes transparent for bling bling. also, expect this to be in ABS transparent. 3d printing filaments that I can find (until now) is ABS.

edit: i don't have 3d printer. so have to run around find for good 3d printing services with good price D:

edit again: i just found his files on github. why he upload on github @@ weird.

QUOTE(doopie @ May 11 2014, 02:24 PM)
just got the v60 mini and wow its solid. Mine is in Mx Red, its perfect! A few things to point out:

-it has a backplate, so its light but rock solid (500grams  i think)..no flexing
-uses cherry stabs plate mounted
-when taking a look at the pcb...even tho its mounting is not standard, there are extra holes to fit most custom alu cases..just needs some washers to cover the contact between the metal screw and pcb. HOWEVER;
-the dip switch behind is longer than usual, so it may not fit those custom alu cases because of the dip switch anyway!
-well made case, low in noise when typing...but keycaps are the only thing that bothers me, very thin abs that uses printing that passes light through it. forgot its official term hehe

overall a satisfied customer here! (8/10)
*
i believe the term you're looking for is shine-through legends biggrin.gif

How come you say this. What is the problem with it may I ask?
*
to be honest we're not biased (i think this applies to others also lel). but because of razer using spinoff switches that proved to the world that it isn't the right choice makes razer out of the context.

As for me, I like the design for their keyboards and the extra usb and audio ports come in handy.

kindly refer to the link below for more info.

and in one of linustechtips' review on a thermaltake poseidon kailh switch keyboard, there's a glimpse that the switch stem chipped off.

Ya but if you look at my earlier comment my advised was to get the 2013 version which is cherry mx blue. You are telling me about the 2014 blackwidow series which I also did mention about their questionable razer switches.

Unless 2013 version also has issues. I would like to know. I am using one and am very interested. My own research tell me its one of the top 5. That is why I want to know the reason behind his comments. I spend some good money on this keyboard. If it has issues I would like to know.

My source Lifehacker.com, PCmag.com, Tomsguide.com, Pcworld.com, Amazon.com, ok here is my google results google.com best mech keyboard

Come on guys enlighten me (wesak day just around the corner  tongue.gif )
*
the 2013 ones are indeed cherry mx blues. sorry if i misunderstood you

the reason why razer, corsair and other main brands popup is because of:

1) advertising was done. more exposure, more people know of their products, more people buy.

2) they're the more well known brands for what they're supposed to do. take razer for example;

Premise 1: they produce peripherals that is the best
Premise 2: they also produce mechanical keyboards
Conclusion: they produce mechanical keyboards that is the best

3) they make various products and not focused on one thing. when someone knows one part of their product they might or might not know their other products too.

4) macros. use it or not laypeople would think having more keys that you might not use is actually cool. *according to my friends*

Brands like filco, ducky, or any other elite keyboard brands that you might not have heard of have their own quality that you would have to try and feel.

like what ntw have mentioned to you. they take things into account seriously since they can be considered as enthusiast grade mkbs. the PCB they use, the controller they use. maybe keycaps that they use even. It's all comparable.

Bro you also did not read my earlier post la, I ask that guy to get the 2013 cherry mx blue version, also mention and agree with you that the new razer 2014 green and orange switch is kinda questionable.

Ok I know you and don't want US to push our points.

Yes I do agree with you. I'm not a fan boy or anything. My point is irregardless of how big the brand is if the product or sub product range cannot hold water (bad) soon the whole brand will be going down the drain (good example is Blackberry, I know off topic just giving examples of brands and what happens when things go wrong).

I'm not saying which brand is better, I'm sure all of them are good or bad depending on the user. Just that none of them are glaringly bad. If Razer keyboards are so bad then I'm sure they will go the way of Blackberry. That is my point. One can claim the world but unless there is some truth in that claim then there is no way for the product to get where it is. Can we at least agree on this?

Okay :v but still, come and join the dark side. We've cookies smile.gif

we dont google (especially those tech website, they know nut about mechanical keyboards)
I have used almost 15 mechanical keyboards from last year until now.
None of them was Razer.

I cant justify it to be even decent, especially you see other brand user like Ducky can change their keyboard casing, key caps set easily.
While you paying the same price for it you can't do anything further.

You can open the case with any old credit card or ID card or pass card. Just have to get the right points.

The geekhack thread link someone posted is an excellent guide.

Sand. Using paint stripper or thinner will kill your case. Sand with 60/80 grit.

can use 100 grit? need to sand till it's smooth again? now it's bumpy for idk what reason.

Said many times.

Sanding must do three times.

Coarse grit first to remove the top layer, followed by medium grit and finishing with fine grit.  The importance of this is to ensure a consistent surface for the paint to adhere to. You fucuked up, means you need to sand the area again to smoothen it.

I suggest you use wet sandpaper instead of the dry ones. The technique is called wet sanding and will create a freaking smooth surface for you to work  with.

Don't act smart, just follow the standard technique for preparing your work surface.

Next step is the proper spraying technique. You need to spray evenly (same pressure on the nozzle, move at even speed across your material). I prefer to spray in quick motions across the entire surface to ensure an even coat, so you might wanna try that too. My friend moves his hand slooooowwwwly across the surface, so that might work for you (I prefer my technique, but in the end all same result).

For the ordering of work done:
1. Sanding.
2. Base coat.
3. Main coat x3.
4. Top coat.

Done properly you'll have great results.
*
i did sand it before spraying. got smooth surface liao.

most probably the fucukup is because of my spraying technique.

i tried to wet sand it again earlier morning to remove all bumpyness. seems to be much better now.

yeah like what you've said, need to spray evenly. that's the one thing that (i think) i didn't get it well done.

if all else fails. dump case, buy pcb, byebye wallet.
