A very well done job by EA Autoworks (sorry if I sounded like their representative or sort tongue.gif )

So I was thinking of upgrading my sound system in my MyVi. I know, the sound sucks an you have to crank the volume up high just to satisfy that "ok" sound. Eventually the front speakers gave up (crack noise) after two years. Choices of my music is so-so. I can say a bit of everything biggrin.gif

My objective is to maintain a stock look as much as possible.

After a lengthy delay going to Howie's shop (been promising him to go to his shop since March. Sorry bro tongue.gif hehe. Work demand), I've decided for soundproofing and an underseat sub (at first) for my MyVi. Upon arriving there were like a few cars (kinda worried my car cannot be done yesterday) but luckily I've informed Howie before going to his shop. He was a bit secretive regarding the underseat sub's brand when we were discussing it, then he showed me a brand spanking new Blaupunkt underseat sub.

Thennn.. the racun begin. he opted me for an 8" blaupunkt active sub to be put in my trunk. I was considering that at first. Before further racun being added, his workers started to strip the door panels.

Soundproofing materials added. Notice how they clean up the glues holding up transparent plastic attached to the door panel

Almost theeeerrrrree (sorry I had no picture for the first door)

After the soundproofing materials added on the door, they applied the same materials as well on the door plastic panels. Finishing it of with a white sound dampener (actually I don't know what to call it)

The whole process took almost five hours to finish. I salute them for their dedication. Working way past their operating hours ( advise for those who are planning to come, come early tongue.gif )

Next come the audio part. Remember the racun that I was talking earlier? The next time I went to the "audio room" he presented me with a better subwoofer.
Comparing with the Blaupunkt, this is waaayy more better. So enter the Vifa SW52510. The sound was superb (at least for a MyVi). It is a 10" active subwoofer.

Attached Image

Ohh and almost forgot to include the Rockford Fosgate R14X2. The sound was crisp, and clear. And if you ask me worth upgrading this even if you dont want to add in a subwoofer (sorry I don't have pictures of them installed)

And here's how it looks like in the trunk

Attached Image

Howie helped in tuning the subwoofer and then tested it with a few choices of my own songs..

Overall, I can say the difference is huuuggee, with a capital H in it. I was used to drive a bit fast ( cannot state here how fast ), but after the sound upgrade I drove a lot more slower last night to enjoy the music. In a way Howie's shop encourage people to drive slow tongue.gif

The outside noise was significantly reduced, so don't have to crank the volume that high. And the sound of the sub and the 4" coaxial are crisp and clear.

The sound is balance without the bass overpowering the front speakers. All I can say this is a money well spent if you want a more pleasurable drive.

So this is an honest review of EA Autoworks workmanship and the results they produce.

I think the speakers and subwoofer only would be in the region of RM2k. Add all the soundproofing and cable could be another RM800.
