Hi All forumers,

Been searching many forums for the answer but hearing something different from different sources. I am a Malaysian. Can you advice on the below:
1) If I am offered a job in Spore (wt working pass), can I continue to drive my Malaysian car in everyday (pay the SGD20+ERP etc...) as long as I want? I plan to reside in JB.
2) Can I continue to use my Malaysian driving lisence with my Malaysian car to commute daily from JB-SG-JB?
3) Can I use a car thats not registered under my name to commute daily from JB-SG-JB?
4) If I read correctly on the info links from the 1st page, the tax I would pay under work pass is flat @15%. Is there a max or a min? There are also no tax rebates/deductions correct?
5) *sensitive question* How much could one expect to be paid in situations like this? SGD 5-7k? 7-10k? 10-12k? 12-15k? above 15k? I know circumstances can vary but any sharing on this is appreciated for me to negotiate the best package for me and my family.

I have no immediate plans to apply for a PR as the rentals in SG is too high. I cant afford a decent place for my wife+3 kids.

Appreciate all your advices.

Hi all, some advice about the most ideal driving time from JB thru Woodlands? If my work place is near Woodlands what would be the most ideal time I should be at the checkpoint to avoid getting massively stuck in traffic? Pls dont mentioned 4am or so.
Appreciate any experience sharing. Tks.
Do they have special lanes for MPV also as I heard?

if you drive, then the jam starts at 5am. If you ride bike, the jam starts 4:30am. Worst time is around 6-8am. after 8am, traffic ease a bit for cars. but when I say ease a bit, it really mean a bit, not a lot. anyway if you reach check point at 8am, If you start work at 9 and work in woodlands, there is a 50% chance that you will be late for work.

Thanks for for the detailed advice. Glad to hear traffic eases off later after 8am. The work place is not very far from woodlands ciq. So I am betting that if I can get to ciq by 8.30am, I should be able to reach office by 9.30am. I shall negotiate for flexible hours just to be professional and don't always end up late.

1) Do Sporean car go thru designated checkpoint lanes at the CIQs thus making them clear faster then Msia cars or is it the same congestion.
2) Can Malaysians buy Sporean cars?
3) Can Malaysians drive Sporean cars in Spore wt Malaysian driving licence?
