hi folks, I would like to convert MY driving license to SG driving license. I have passed the BTT exam. From my understanding, I need to get a driving record from JPJ. What I should tell them (eg: license conversion)? Do I need to surrender MY driving license to JPJ? Is it possible to hold 2 licenses at the same time. Thanks smile.gif

It's a coincidence that i also passed my BTT today. JPJ will take your licence as you cannot hold 2 license at the same time. Hope it help.

50k is easily breached if you're in engineering firm for oil gas. Freshies paid mid of 3k. 13*3.5k = 45k p.a. Add in bonus &offshore allowance, you get 50k since 1st year.

For 100k within 3 years, that's a bit of a stretch unless you offshore for really long duration.

I second this.

My observation IN GENERAL, exceptional case not considered.
6 months - 2008-2010
1 year - 2011-2012
From 2013 onwards, staying here >1 yr also not guarantee a PR. Once you fail first application, you need to wait for another 6 months before you can re-apply. The processing time for each application is approximately 6 months.
Yes you may start apply after 6 months but confirm fail, IRRESPECTIVE you salary.
*
Yes. I only apply for my PR once cross 2 year mark.

Yeah... 2.4k seems low but hard to bargain also. Max should be around 2.8k right? $400 difference.

Now when I look at jobs posted on famous sites, most of them ask for Singaporen/SPR only.

Maybe I can ask about it first before confirming my acceptance. Ty for your advice smile.gif
Btw, I find that it's quite hard to find job through those sites without going through head hunter.

Also... Many ppl say M'sian go there kena bully one. How true is that?  doh.gif

2.4k is a bit low. I believe u can get at least 2.7k even being a fresh graduate. Few company like Sembcorp, Keppel can offer this kind of salary (non first class). Not to mention Shell, exxon, Chevron etc. In fact most company in JI can match EP salary.

$3k-$4k I suppose. Good luck with your application though, the FCF already kick in today so it's probably harder for companies to justify hiring foreigners for starter jobs.
*
3k is already good enough. 4k you will need to join big MNC like exxonmobil (3.8k) ☺

If the company insists on hiring foreigner, then there is nothing much MOM can do about it.😕
