Possible to reduce the RAM usage of google chrome?

it is normal. chrome is quite memory intensive since it utilized sandboxing model for added security and stability reason, each tab and extension or plugin is running as different processes would result in a higher memory consuming. try use other browser like firefox or internet explorer, they should be more efficient in memory management compare to chrome.My google chrome browser is using total 1.1GB of RAM memory with 5 tabs opened, is this normal?
