Just wondering if this game is popular or not?

Its quite hot now.

I'll say it is, not sure with the Malaysian server of SDO.

I've been playing SDO since beta in the China servers (developers 9you.com ) as part of my job in testing new games to localized in other countries. The market value and possibility of SDO is "huge".

Play it and you'll enjoy it

Brrhhh , this game sucks.
Especially the Lover Mode , you'll see a lot of people showing off their kissing scenes.

Even the songs are all real life songs , no fun at all.
Also the in-game outfits are freaking expensive.
How could people afford a FFX suit for 35000 M Point for each part of the cloth???
The graphics are also looking like 'Audition r*p-*ff'

SDO is a "rip-off" (if you will) of both Audition and O2Jam. According to the developer of SDO, they took the best of both games - O2Jam and Audition, and added the existing popular Video Arcade Dance game - Dance Dance Revolution.

"Super Dancer Online" is in other words "O2Jam+Audition+Dance Dance Revolution".

SDO is also known as "Dance Dance Revolution Online".
The developer of SDO is the official publisher of both O2Jam and Audition in China. Audition has been around for years, and SDO a year or two (can't remember).

So, you can say it is a rip-off, coz that will be correct in some way.

I don't really care if it is a ripp off or whatever.

I just want to know how popular it is.
Because the distributor of SDO wants to do JV with my company.

it'll be popular if your customer base consist of ah bengs and ah lians who like to play dancing games using initial D soundtrack. yes, i've witnessed MANY bengs and lians at Aman Suria Havennet cafe, playing it and almost 80% of the time it's initial D soundtrack (can't remember the exact name, but i think it's from vol 2, [OT], yes i have the entire initial D anime soundtrack) kacau me playing Ghost Recon with friends only.

i don't give high ratings for this because it don't apeal to me since it reeks with bengness.

What I can say, it is popular in China, a lot of people do play it. I don't have data yet for the Malaysian SDO.

SDO have a dancepad, that dancepad can be used to play SDO. If you are wondering for SDO's market, it is huge if the game publisher company running it will market it correctly I'm not sure though if Malaysia SDO will offer the dancepad.

You need to verify directly from the game developer and the local game distributer regarding the music license, it is clearly that most were ripped. China is famous for pirating things

Agree 500% lo , SDO's really a "rip-off".
The game mode in it also sux.

Community also suck , where they fired one of the mods of their forums for deleting the old/dead threads. While they let spammers go just like that.
I can't call this a game already.

i played this game.. it's nice.. i dun hav the dance pad.. anyone here know where's to buy it and how much would it cost?

dancepads are about RM13. that's the last time i saw it right before the shop in sungai wang closes down for good.

anyway, i've played dance dance revolution before and i love it. simply because the dance steps are all in sync with the beat of the music. same goes for VOS (not sure about O2 because haven't try it yet).

there are so many things that can be improved (a better way of saying: "so many places they have gone wrong"). firstly, the dance moves are not in sync with music beat. unlike DDR where you stomp on every beat or vocal, SDO don't practice this. there's no ear/leg or ear/finger coordination but more on hand/eye coordination. how can i tell? simple i was sitted next to one player and i actually took time to watch him play. buton tapping on initial d soundtrack which the tempo is medium, but the scores (arrow keys) drop fast like falling rocks.

secondly, is the animated dancers. though it nice and cute to look at, but i can't help to notice the moves are recycled and again off sync. imagine slow para-para dancers with initial d music. furthermore the camera is more often than not static, unlike DDR which is dynamic and gives the mood that you are clubbing.

it's not only a rip off from DDR but a total rip off to play.

This game is impossible to play with dance pad, look at all the song's notes.

only in the hardest setting. if you've seen expert O2 players pounding on the keyboard, then SDO is something like that (in hard mode).
although the score drop fast, yet tempo is still the same as well as animation. wait a minute, i've already mentioned that.

Reminds me of some games that require lotsa button smashing, I hate that.

Have u guys notive that at they website they said they server will down for one day... They are upgrading to version 3. I try to dl it from yesterday evening until now... still can't... why not they use filefront service for us to dling... So stupid to host themself and because of that none of us can dl it... no one could play it...

i also cant enter the game after install it.....haiz............rm6 they also want to cheat....what for open a company like them???? when enter the game is say cant patch the server....now i dl the patch see how first.....

There are 2 modes to choose from lah... keyboard mode and dance pad mode.. considering getting a dance pad

I'm an avid DDR + PIU + EZ2Dancer fan but I don't get much chance to play since moving to sarawak :/ So maybe this will give me a chance to catch up on playing.. haha .. even if it sucks... RM6 is still cheaper then RM2 for 3 songs on most PIU machines

Maybe can go to see how they play at the competition.

The guys told me got free play for newbies to try and play for free then.

There will have an event held at ipoh at 29 September. Do know anyone heard bout it?? Can't wait to test the dancing pad...

I started playing this game ever since closed BETA.

Well, it's pretty fun prolly cause I like music game alot e.g O2Jam, Audition (which I find it pretty tough), DJMax.

Anyhow, SDO hasn't fail me yet. Have not spent a single cent on it.

Account activation now is FREE as long you got an email.I might not sure wether it is for limited.I like the game it is like a DDR online.They KEYBOARD and DANCE PAD key notes are different,you need to "activate" your dance pad to use it.

why register need to pay?? aihz~~ yet so hard to download..always tell me too many users bla blaa...lol..
