Bro, it doesn't have direct contact with the lappy right? I have seen it, there are rubber feet on the cooling pad itself right?

But the fan is strong is it? Loud?
*
I turn the fans orientation to blow downward, i would say the fans are quite strong, you will heard the sound when in quite room but normally i play games or music listening while doing my work so the noice is negligible.

Saw it at ALLIT Lowyat today.
Selling at RM99.
*
quite pricey but dunno the effectiveness, if attach to exhaust, i suppose the cooling will be more efficient than cooler pad.

Those plastic ones are definitely useless. Doesn't help with heat dissipation.
*
but i heard the plastic & aluminium yielded the same result as they dun have direct contact with heatsink, fan's orientation with exhaust's location is important.

Any Coolermaster Notepal users here? Just wanna ask something.. There are 2 usb ports on the cooler. Do i need to connect both ports to the laptop? Coz the cooler doesnt seem to cool down my amd.. sweat.gif
*
frm what i gathered, in general...notebook cooler pads (incl. coolermaster) actually are not so efficient in cooling processor, only hdd is cooled.

for a 15.4 inch screen..better opt for widescreen cooler like W1 series..cos its for widescreen.. is ur 6400 is 15 inch then..go for Notepal 15" 1.. i think it will fit...

i tested my laptop GC... without the fan on(with the board below, the temp is around 54-55C
when i on the 3 fan, the temp drop to 47-49C..

so i think Notepal really help.. cos the air hit directly on to the suction point...
*
what about your c2d? wat is the temperature reading? afaik, cooler pad doesn't has significant or cooling effect on the processor dry.gif

But did you test it?
Overall is it effective?
*
i couldn't test it as the clips are incompatible with my lappy fan grill. but my frenz bought it and the outcome is disappointing, no significant effect on his cpu & hdd, and he plans to sell, any taker sweat.gif ?

if u guys ever study thermodynamic or heat transfer you will know that blowing air in is stupid. no offence

because by suc king out the  hot air, eventually the cool air will go in by it self.

same question, did u ever see cpu fan blowing towards processor or rather suc king the hot air out?!
*
heehee, the cpu fan blows toward processor rolleyes.gif

I see. The temp usually is around 55 Celcius when idle; but easily goes up to 60 Celcius when running some basic applications such as MS Word and Firefox.

Anyway, I find that the airflow at the back vent becomes much weaker then before even when the fan is spinning at full speed.
*
use vacuum at all ventilation areas to suck out all the dust that could possibly clog the airway

The model is Asus A3N.

Actually I already took the fan out and cleaned it. But for the heat sink, I have no idea on how to do cleaning... ;-P

Hi Sotong168, may I know where can I get a 'vacuum' from and how much for each?
*
wow, u opened up the casing and clean it? that is clean enuf i suppose, what i meant is to use normal vacuum cleaner to vacuum the ventilation grill/exhaust, since u already cleaned the internal blower, i suppose nothing to clean again. if u have experience and dare to take the risk, try to clean thoroughly & re-apply thermal paste on the heatsink, if ur unit is still under warranty, better get the manufacturer to diagnose lar

frm my experience, nb cooler reduces hdd temp. but not or less significant for proc & gc. i dun use any cooler now, just undervolt the proc for cooling sake (using NHC, can use RMclock also)
