Send back to the shop u bought the card to claim for warranty

By any chance a few of those BSOD occurrences happen when you're using Flash? Youtube etc.

I had the card tested on my rig using the 1000W psu(SF Leadex) . And it ran fine in Unigine Heaven. I assume you bought it from feiton coz they're the only supplier here who sells PowerColor product. If possible bring your rig there and let them test it out. Before going download Unigine Heaven and install it in our pc. Later ask them to run it when testing the gpu.

what should i do after i get it? how to test the card? just play games or is there any particular stress test method

Download Unigine Heaven, Valley, 3dmark2011, 3dmark and then test kau kau, if you have no problem running all these benchmarking sw then i think you card should be in out of problem

u mentioned that u have formatted & re-installed windows problem still persist?

received my powercolor pcs+ r9 290, this card is freaking huge, so thick as well, had to removed my pci wifi card to install it, i think 3 slotted card?

so far no problem yet, will do the testing later

hmm may i know does all r9 290 support amd trueaudio? i dont understand much about this amd trueaudio thingy
update :

1.first driver error occured when playing dota 2, i want to tab out that moment, screen freeze a while, and driver error occured, going back to dota 2 there is 60fps fps drop  restart solve the problem, not bad for 1st day trial!

2. unigine benchmark on all setting maxed out 1080p, 1236, no error here, was running the whole scene for almost 30minutes

another black screen while playing dota 2, need restart to return to normal...zzz

what should i do now? change to old driver? currently using 14.6 beta

update :

1.after 3rd time crashing, i uninstall, and install the 14.4 driver, still testing, weird though it all happens in dota 2 

2. the same thing happened! but instead now memory clock is not stuck as before at 150mhz, but the gpu is running on full load all the time, restarting solve the problem 

3. this time around i downloaded the 14.3 driver from powercolor website, still testing with this driver, one thing i notice after installing driver from powercolor, the fans rpm started to show up in open hardware monitor, its been none in the other 2 driver ive tested before(14.6beta and 14.4 both from amd website)

  oh i run to same issues when upgrade my win 8 pro to win 8.1 pro... i fix it with using Display Driver Uninstaller using reccomended setting on Safe mode setting" and after clean install with Catalyst driver 14.4 Whql  No more issues of BSOD/black screen or  Flash crash(during youtube/ porn watching full screen)

my pc spec on my signature and if this not fix maybe your PSU not enough power to Gpu.. when it say 600W minimum

Download Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU), Google it or get it in first post. Run it in Safemode.

Your PSU is good enough. Try turn on HPET if you haven't though i think it's placebo.
Or Google on how to increase/decrease driver Timeout Detection Recovery.

Btw, did you have any browser open in the background when it happened?

i did inform him use DDU / do it in safe mode...  alot BSOD problem can be fix with DDU done in safe mode... x x

Cool, not quite a user friendly fix but at least you don't need to RMA it.

I flashed already thx to khen911. Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2 seems much smoother now. The only problem is the V-Sync not solved.

Playing games enable V-Sync got micro-stuttering @@. Disable it screen-tearing.
