Hi, i got a decent offer for r9 280x Dcu asus. But i read, it having many problems like artifacts and screen tearing.

Anyone here owned r9 280x and having those problems?
*
just my 2 cents, i had a asus r9 280x before, and the screen artifacts are actually caused by the vram of the card not receiving proper cooling, a few of it are not directly in contact with the copper pipes causing the high temps. the cooler and heatsink are designed for nvidia cards but not amd cards thus the flaw in cooling.

anyway, I tried undervolting it to 1.5v and downclocked it and the problem still persists but didn't occur as much. a quick alt tab solved this issue.

was able to find a buyer who was willing to take the rma process so off the card goes. smile.gif

it's a shame really because i really liked the card's performance and how quiet it is, my previous sapphire hd6870 in comparison was so freaking loud sweat.gif

oh and, there is actually a v2 model of this

it uses the old hd7970 cooling design and my guess is the vrams are better cooled with it.

the voltage is stock @1.5v and mem clock @ 1500mhz, probably to prevent screen artifacts as well from overvolting or over oc-ing.

but it's not widely available. (someone correct me if i'm wrong)
