installed my mk-26 and damn the guide was so unclear as i tought the shim is only for 7970 fitted the cooler without the shim damn the temps goes way up even worst than stock cooler.

Even a guide i read online also says r9 does not need to use the shim provided.

which site you referring to hmm.gif top end AMD will need that extra piece.
the cooler manual of course is a little outdated, not really "new model" anyway.

also coat both contact side with thermal paste. otherwise will also run into serious trouble.

how's the temperature for your card? R9 290? Looks like those readings on your Heaven benchmark is hella bugged... 1664312°c LOL laugh.gif

Had anyone ran a Sapphire Toxic R9 280x on 550w 600W PSU?
Currently having issue with my Corsair 750W PSU, thinking about trying the spare Xigmatek 550W 600W PSU but noticed Sapphire mentioned 750W minimum requirement on the box... what the heck?

Not sure is 550 or 500... somehow it don't have a sticker on it, bought really long time ago rclxub.gif
Nvm, found an old pic on my FB, it's a 600W doh.gif

The PSU requirement is just a guideline. The requirement is set that way to cover the whole PC, not just the card & they intentionally set a little bit higher to cover most setup if not all.

What was the issue you having with Corsair 750W?

Unstable voltage on 3.3v rail operating at 2.8v for several months now, trigger the mobo anti surge, and yesterday totally crash when game start, sign of dying.
The RMA require purchase receipt duh! Two years item already... might be hard to find.

Currently using the Xigmatek 600w, it does dip to 11.5v on heavy load which I'm not exactly very comfortable with.
Gonna do some undervolt and reduce clock a bit. tried... didn't work sweat.gif best just not run more than 1 game at a time...

For casual gaming there really no need to have super expensive cards. Last time I was using 6850 crossfire... still can max 1080 (with lower AA) on many games. Oh that you can thanks the console... ... ... hehe. That crossfire performance probably pretty close to R7 265 nowadays. I already sold them however, now got a R9 280x....

Currently using my 280x on seriously gimped core speed - 645Mhz (actual factory OC is 1250Mhz). Blame the broken PSU (struck by lightning...), using backup unit now. To my surprise, I still game on 1080 without much problem LOL... Grid Autosport 1080 4xAA still runs on reasonable 45fps, which is completely fine viewing on TV. Yea, my LCD struck by lightning 2 days ago... fuuuu vmad.gif Lighter games like Path of Exile surely have zero problem.

I still have that weird problem of crashing when playing video WHILE gaming, IF I use any third party tools to adjust stuff. Even TriXX can't be used. Only Catalyst don't cause trouble. Not sure what's going on hmm. Didn't happened when i first bought the card, only after I reformat my PC...

Just heard about this driver, read a review somewhere...

At present, VSR will only be available for the Radeon R9 295X2, R9 290X, R9 290 and R9 285 GPUs thus leaving owners of older HD 7000 cards, or their rebranded Rx 2xx series counterparts, without access to the new feature.
