There were a lot of dogs once in the area. So, it's called "Asu". Also a Hindu temple in central Java built in 870M.

Candi Ceto

A quite "recent" Hindu temple, built in 15th century in East Java during the Majapahit Kingdom era. The restoration process by Suharto's close acquaintance was controversial and criticized by archeologists due to lack of in-depth researches. The end result looks more like Pura in Bali.

Some candi are destroyed beyond recognition by the elements, quakes and volcanic eruptions. Perhaps nearly impossible to restore to their original condition.
