Hi guys, For the sake of my assignment, I need to know where i can buy blank cd covers, the plastic kind. But the good quality kind. The one that is abit thick, not the cheap flimsy kind. And also i need the front and back of the cover to have some spacing so that i can fill it with sand(my assignment concept >_<) What i had in mind was that i wanted to somehow find a blank cd cover where the back and front has some space, maybe i could break off the top or bottom, fill it with sand, then seal it back by melting the plastic. But firstly, i dont even have an idea of where to buy blank cd covers. Any one knows where i can get blank cd covers? Maybe the kind of shop with high quality types? I live in subang, so perhaps a shop in Sunway Pyramid? Or a shopping mall in the area which has a shop that sells it? >_< PLEASE i need your help sad.gif

Then another thing. I need to know what kind of shop sells the sand provided in sand art. You know the colourful type?. Like there would be blue or red sand. Those kind of coloured sand. Any idea where i could get that? Im planning to check out toys R us, but everything there is pretty pricey. So any tips on where i could get coloured sand?

Thank you guys!

i think both also got, but the cd cover might not be those thick quality one, cuz Mr.DIY mostly sell cheap items, those you mention thick quality should be more pricey

the color sand art placed at children toys section

bear in mind that, all different MrDIY outlet carry different item, some item available in one outlet but not the other, some is due to stock availability.

They're called jewel boxes or jewel cases.
You should be able to just buy blank jewel boxs without artwork from http://www.wamp-it.com/cd-jewel-case-digipak-pocket.html

You probably require unscratched and flawless jewel boxes to display your sand artworks right? The transparent half of the cd cases do scratch easily, and that's why I recommended you purchase direct from the factory. But you can probably inquire at Speedy video, music shops or your friendly neighborhood pirated dvd seller; they may have spare cases to sell you....however I don't know if they are unscratched.

As for colored sand, I just recalled 2 places which may carry it:
At the far southern end of Petaling St, there's an art supply store. It's called Nanyang art supplies on the left hand side of the road as you walk south away from the stalls.
Try www.multifilla.com. They're located far away in Balakong though. Try giving them a call to ask. The owner is very nice and helpful...I've visited him 4 times already and they carry hella lot of stuff.

Its a shop and I can't remember the name. Just go up the escalator that's nearest to the main entrance. It's on the 2nd floor next to the escalator...you'll see stacks and stacks of blank dvds.
