Do you prefer to have your best friends who have the same interest, but not much talent, which you would have to teach yourselves, or do you prefer very good musicians but you secretly hate each other?

Chemistry is pretty much everything I think.
You can have all the talent in the world, but if you can't sync it with your bandmates, it's not gonna work out well.

You need pros. The chemistry can be improved on. Think about it. It is easier to improve your relationships with your band rather than your skills.

chemistry between bandmates far surpasses the pro and best friend thingy imo. if you can interact well with each other during ur jam improv session that's like a rare thing to be in.
theory can be teached and learned, and best friends you can take them out to dinner dates lol.

having pro bandmates with less chemistry with them may be good on the first few weeks or months, but i don't think this will last long.
