Hmmm...why it's iPhony like? As long as they can sort out the colour scheme, it's worth it.

No matter how big the battery gets, there will always be a drawback. I came from Note 2 > LG G2 > Nexus 5.

Note 2 is a good phone with good standby time for my use (around 5-6 SOT). G2 is better! It's like on steriod and I struggle to finish off the last bits of juice to completely deplete it.

Nexus 5 on the other hand, is a fun phone. It's a dream phone for flashaholic nutcases (like me). The battery does take a hit, especially coming from G2 but I can live with it. It depends on your lifestyle as well, for me, I'm at office all the time so no problem to charge it anytime. Slap on a different kernel and I can see a marked improvement in the battery standby.

Using Nexus without Root/Flash is just a waste. Is like buying a Ferrari put inside the house for display sahaja.

ya lor..the purpose Google created Nexus line is for development of Android. If you don't even root it, wtf wanna buy it right?

1st.18-24mths of warranty, is depending your "boards" ' lifespan..
and about the screen(Not very sure about it) can be claimed unless your screen have yellow-tinted, biased TFT (1 kind of the digitization stuff that lacks of calibration from OEM/Phone makers)
+if your screen cracked/battery bloated, it's never been including on warranty coz it's comes from some fatality of user
(I done LCD replacement for some cracked screen of N5, but i cas them Parts fees n workmanship(mostly MYR 10) )

2nd. yup, You have a nice points is you can aware those kind of cases or etc to avoid the things was happened

3rd.yeah... welcome n pls add yourself at 1st page
*
about the yellow tinting --- is it permanent thingy & how to detect? Coz I suspect mine is affected but can't be sure.

Plus, there's kinda line/stripes running across the screen.

i think mostly about faulty Screen on the unit, n u can drop to your phone seller center n try to ask them RMA it as well biggrin.gif
*
Will need to visit the seller then, hehe. Thanks for the info bro!

QUOTE(metaloid @ May 24 2014, 09:40 PM)
Well the n5 screen is abit yellowish, I used kernel mod to make it colder. U mean those horizontal lines on the screen if you look very closely like tv screens?  I think our lcd ips display is like that.
*
Is it? I had G2 before this and it wasn't like this. There are no stripes across the screen. Will try to check with the seller & see how it goes.

Suddenly the interest for Mi3 is waning already? Digi's pre-order seems nice.

their service and plan is not that bad either. At least it was okay for me when I had iphone plan (eventhough it's freaking expensive).

Agreed. My usage - with plan it'd be at least RM50/month. On prepaid (I'm using Tron - 10c/SMS, 20c/min calls, RM1/day internet) I use much less than 20/month. laugh.gif
*
Tron how much MB data for RM1/day?

Just wait for next batch to open, more available stock and less people fight for it. No point tie yourself to contract, even if it's service are superb now, doesnt guaranteed it's smooth and stable during your tied down contract period. Only get from telco, if the offered price are super attractive, example less than half of retail price.
Stick in your ass for 2 years, kthxbye  whistling.gif

Well, I'm just intrigued that Xiaomi ventured into Malaysia..finally, after reaching our neigbour way earlier.

Maybe future product will be better bet since we will have almost the same day access as in China + warranty claim will be easier.

Their software is quite good previously, don't know whether it has become better or worse now.

Definitely Nexus 5 is a dream phone. Don't regret it at all. It's exactly how I need 'em. Use it straight out the box not additional things required, similar to iPhone.

Thinking of flashing 4.4.3 but since have to do extra steps to preserve root & data, feeling lazy. Over the weekend la, got spare time in case anything goes wrong. tongue.gif

Anyone seen significant difference after update? For stock rooted/unrooted.

We're on the same boat. Bought my N5 from DialogHub as well (from Hong Kong, 4 days old). Sideload 4.4.3 yesterday. Now the LED goes wonky. Sometime it lit, sometime it doesn't. Other than that, so far so good.  rclxm9.gif

It's an acknowledged bug with 4.4.3. A lot of people are complaining on the missed LED notifications after the update.

sideloaded 4.4.3 and didn't notice much difference other than the dialer, which is good too.

It's still sailing smooth with Code_Blue (latest #154 is giving good idle time for me, hehehe)
