how is the sale and after sale service for both DirectD and Satu Gadget anyone knows?

which is your go-to phone shop?

If u ask here, ofkoz its Nexus 5

Anf if u want the latest software update everytime, buy a Nexus. If not, u can just buy any other Android based phone and when there is a new update on Android, just don't complain that u don't have it.

For me, a Nexus is the true Android phone. The rest is just Android based phone.

I used to follow the Samsung Galaxy S flagship. Owned all Galaxy S, S2, S3 and S4. All bought within their first week of launh date. But after having this rocking Nexus 5, heard S5 is launching, I was like "S5 launched? Oh okay." Then continue doing what I'm doing. Not even bother to check what are the so-called 'new features' on the new version. Because yeah, I know Nexus 5 still beat it single handedly. At least for me. smile.gif
*
i never really touch any Nexus phone altho i have used HTC and Samsung before this. G Nex is the first Nexus phone i touch and i wasn't really impressed that time cos the spec is inferior than the S2 non G. when the S3 was out, a fren of mine bought it and he compare it to his cousin's G Nex and the G Nex is a much better phone and smooth but with inferior hardware. that is when i wanted to get myself a Nexus but i don't really like the N4 design so wait and see how the next Nexus looks like and the N5 really caught my interest so i buy it.

Once you go nexus, it's difficult to go back. Been poisoned since Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4 and now Nexus 5. All 4 nexuses I had similar complaint, mediocre camera and average battery life, but the speeeeeeeeeed just so damn good sometime I just have fun scroll and scroll and scroll through home screen for no reason.
*
no other flagship can beat a Nexus smoothness in scrolling, i do that too. even my fren's complain to me that his Note3 can't match my N5 on this

not so sure what my fren mean by the term lag he use.. but for sure he do compare to N5... biggrin.gif
*
the same goes to my fren when he compare his Note 3 with my N5, Note 3 with 3GB RAM should be better but it's not

I thought all the Cons you mentioned, is what you will get when grabbing Nexus lineup, pure AOSP.

I thought people knew about this, kesian. Only an enthusiasts will love Nexus lineup, people like you sir wouldnt suit with the pure AOSP like in Nexus 5. You already used to the add-on function like in Touchwiz/Sense
*
i agree on this, not everyone will like a Nexus especially those who are more into features and other that has been added on by each manufacturer.

it's basically back to everyone's preference, there is no best phone around.

Different people, different preferences nod.gif
I like the simplicity of AOSP, any additional features I want, I can flash different roms, install xposed (example).
Sure not many people may agree. That's why there are options for Android phones! And you can go test the phone/UI before even buying it, that's the point of demo units at shop/stores. laugh.gif
*
Nah.. You will not notice the difference when you test the demo unit untill you have used it at least a week or so.. I have tried the cm 11 for maybe a month and i satisfied with the less features of vanilla android but i didnt know that the vanilla android has much less features than the cm version.

Custom roms is the way to go if i want more out of this device.

I still believe that google can do more especially with the camera app and other less significant options but might be a deal breaker to some people without they realize untill they use it.

I do agree with the clean simple ui and fast response of the phone. Seriously no lag at all.
*
i believe there is no demo unit here and most of us here did not even touch a demo unit before buying the phone as we know what we are getting ourselves into.

pure vanilla and CM is not really the same, CM ROM had those add ons by the developer where else pure vanilla is really bare.

seems like u bought the wrong phone

Google ultimate goal is to boost the eco-system and promote own services, any changes against the objective will not happen. As for Nexus, Google always keep it minimal or as simple as it, and everybody believe, enthusiasts can add on themselves, ton of developers are support on that, with source support of Google.

all your wishlist are softmod simple doable yourself right now or anytime. except as for camera, google already aware our feedback and update on next.

if you're not prefer do all your wishlist above but want google spoon-fed, then you bought the wrong phone.
*
i agree with this and have said it in my post earlier.

Really "jelly' of you guys' nexus 5 as you guys are getting the 4.4.3 update already while some other "Branded" and more Expensive "High End"Korean brand are still stuck with 4.3.
*
That is why i say, if u wanted fast updates buy a Nexus. If not u can only look at the Nexus users. Haha....

Uffhh, I've been following that thread since OP opened it. Can't wait for beta/nightlies.
Gonna go for multirom soon.

P/s: Sense UI getting sexier every version  whistling.gif
*
Sense UI on N5 then can be a good chick magnet?

i still prefer the basic vanilla UI.

Like I said, preferences, preferences, preferences.
Things that I prefer but you might not, and vice versa.
That's why I might go for MultiRom. One AOSP rom, the other is the ported Sense.
Primary ofc will still be AOSP. The sense I guess is just for me to play around (and possible show off brows.gif )

Edit:
Don't get me wrong. I like love vanilla AOSP UI. The beauty of android is also manufacturers UI  laugh.gif

I rely on devs to develop ROM/kernels, then I flash them and apply my own settings.
I disable some of the Google stuff. I play around with init.script. I read the source files of kernels and understand them. I undervolt. Sometimes I overclock/underclock. Play around with i/o. Governor settings.
I, for one don't simply flash something which I don't understand/know what it does to my devices.

I believe a lot here are pretty advanced users  hmm.gif
