A phone like this at the price it is now is really a steal!

I still rmb last year about june/july time, 16gb nexus 4 around 1k+.. That time nexus 4 was so-so only compare to other flagships..

Now with nexus 5 much better than nexus 4 but price almost similar and it's smoothness is.... speechless...


Bah, Don't know what I'm saying.. It's late here at my place, 3am... Better go sleep now..

Anyway, been using 0.38. today whole day play game, 13hour+ total phone time with 5 hour sot. not bad.

Hmm, did you put in custom rom/ custom kernel / custom mod?

I had the random flicker too, then duno what I did and it went away... Maybe do a factory reset to stock and test?

I was using elementalx. But it's been quite some time since my screen last flickered. I think it's a few weeks ago when it started flickered randomly.Don't think there's any flickering now.

The only changes I did to my phone since the flickering was updating the kernel. So I'm thinking its the kernel problem?

I was quite excited for 4.4.3. but it seems like its not coming anytime soon.. All the rumours die down. Guess the bug that they found must be quite big?

Or they last minute decide skipping 4.4.3 and straight go for 4.5/5?
But moto X+1 coming out around mid of may and its coming out with 4.4.3...:S

Maxis has been using new sim cards which is compatible with 4g for awhile. So sometimes is only settings problem and once activated, you can use 4g without changing the sim. Some need to change sim card cause their sim is still using old sim which don't support 4g.

So, try swapping your dad's sim to your phone and check whether is it working or not.

Don't need to wait till accidental drop. When I first got my nexus 5, I use without sp. after 1month, I notice have a very small and faint scratch. I always put my phone in a separate pocket without keys or wallet but still have a small scratch. I immediately ordered a sp and put it on.

Sometimes will go no network signal then after a while full bar.
And something to do with wifi according to my bro. he switch on wifi then no signal..

was thinking of flashing but since 4.4.3 is around the corner, felt like waiting for 4.4.3 only try out custom rom. Had this phone with me for 7 months already but still running on stock.

Think it's time for some change..

Low A( ampere/current ) means slow charging, takes longer to charge till full.
High A faster charging.

But, with higher Ampere, it will also mean more heat generated in the battery. High heat in the battery means it will reduce the battery life.

So for me, I'll charge using wall adapter when I need my phone to be full battery fast and I'll plug it in to comp/laptop when I'm not in a hurry to use it as laptop/comp is only 0.5A ( charge slow ).

May i ask one stupid question? Why is PA rom named PA 4.3? Is it still on jelly bean? or is it just another name for PA?

try again. It's volume down and power button hold at the same time. Try holding it for a long time.

Yea, finally got it. Had to follow the guide in XDA. I used around 1-2 hours resetting everything and downloading all app.

Better not do that. Not encouraged by google engineer.

Did you use a custom rom/kernel or made modifications to the system files or deleted any stock apps?

If yes, you have to go back to stock or reinstall back the stock apps that you removed via root.

Also, guys. I just went back to complete stock rom and kernel followed with a clean wipe.

I noticed some lag or jutter. Then I noticed it was because of the default runtime being dalvik.( I was using art previously with stock rom and elementalx kernel )

The lag was very obvious when I was using the multitasking window as the app lags for half a second before loading up on dalvik while it was instant on art.

So, for those who want to get a little speed boost, please do change to ART runtime. If you're not sure how to, you can refer to the 1st page.
