on slimkat latest rom

tested Elementalx 0.36 @ max 3.0ghz, stable, SOT 3hf 50min +- 10 mins
WiFi + LTE mixed usage, mostly browsing

tested Faux 0.16u @ max 1.8ghz, per app control to max 2.2ghz for FB, Naked Browser and a few commonly used apps, max 2.8ghz for MyBoy emu
SOT 3hr 20mins, +- 10mins
had more freezes/random reboots

did the GPS hardware fix, it does work, though the opening phone part was nerve wrecking. Don't ask me to do a comparison, I don't want to open the phone up again in case i break something, I consider myself extremely lucky to made it out in one piece. GPS Fix after hardware mod definitely feels faster. I can connect to 1 satellite from where I usually sit now, compared to befoe where I can't connect to any.

Google Camera is a long waited fix. Can't see any difference in the image quality for normal mode.
Panorama High quality made a difference, everything looks better now.
Blur mode needs some practise to get used to, but is simple and easy to use, good news for the food photographers.
Best thing about this update: viewfinder is FINALLY in the correct aspect ratio, can finally frame our pictures properly without doing guesswork
camera UI feels faster

Guys I'm using slimkat rom and by default I do not have the latest Google camera update pop out so I downloaded the apk and try to install it but I got error stating similar application already exist
I use slimsizer to delete the camera apps and try reinstal it but get "application already exist" error
Now I'm left with a phone without a camera :c

QUOTE(RyoKenzaki @ May 10 2014, 09:03 PM)

flash the fix from slimrom.net, there's a camera fix in the add-ons section, you need that

something strange, had slimkat 4067 since ytd, been getting strange wakelocks that I never got before
took off charger at 100%, 6 hours later I woke up to 60+%..
identified 2 culprits:
checkin service
GPS location

google now off, fb location off... i'm using the phone just as I was before, yet this happens...

only difference: installed MINIGORE 2 game, gonna freeze it tonight and see if it makes a difference

anyone who has that game, have you guys seen anything like this?

0.38, 2% drop over night, 0.4x 1% drop over night
wake gesture options available for customize, swipe, up, down, left, right and double tap. each of them you can assign any app, shortcut, unlock & torch. must install the xposed module, else doesn't happen.
icon_idea.gif  the gesture wake module talking, is coming from same dev who write GravityBox
*
noticed that if selected wake gesture when installing kernel,

when xposed module is not installed/enabled, dt2w doesn't work (vibrates after tapping, but screen stays black)

when xposed module installed/enabled but double tap configued to NONE, dt2w doesn't work (vibrates after tapping, but screen stays black)

for now, I have configured it to unlock straightaway after double tapping, and it works

How are your battery consumption when playing music? Using mortplayer (love the folder sorting and lock screen function) and I noticed it's quite a drain on the battery, like playing music in the background and messaging uses 1%/min

Am using PowerAmp with Viper4Android, it does consume battery much, but wasnt as awful as your 1% per min.
Using genetic Qi wireless charger from eBay, it does work and it's cheap.

EDIT : Typo, when you're swype while walking  tongue.gif

might be because i'm playing FLAC files... hmm...

Half of my songs are FLAC as well. Try switch to other music apps see if got improvement or not. I do note that FLAC does consume much higher processing than mp3

Noted, will monitor and report, thanks everyone!

QUOTE(cientoo @ Jun 10 2014, 02:08 PM)
why do you guys and gal...worry so much about battery life? I am sure with stock rom we can easily reach 3 to 4 hours of SOT provided that we don't encounter any weird wakelocks. If 3 to 4 hours of SOT still not enough, then there is the 10400 Mi powerbank mah... lol
*
Cuz 3-4 hrs screen on time = 5% at 4pm for me, starting from 7am
I'd like to not carry a power bank

Plus, it's really not about the SOT, it's about getting as much out of my phone as possible
