hi guys, in dilemma choosing between Nexus 5 or G2, both phone made by LG. since this is N5 thread. please give your opinion why N5>G2 thankyou smile.gif

I used both.. Can tell u the pros and cons :-

Nexus 5
1) very smooth os because it always gets the latest update
2) pure google experience
3) slimmer profile due to 4.95in screen
4) standard comes with 16gb

G2
1) currently kitkat 4.4.2 however rom not as smooth as n5
2) 13mp with ois is superior to n5 in any conditions
3) larger screen 5.2in
4) 32GB
5) 3000ma battery vs 2300ma longer battery life by almost 40%

Price of both not much difference only rm150 more for g2.

samsung always just non-stop keep adding more features and much more features until occupied a lot of storage. and when that 'extra' features is not useful, is called bloatware. why don't samsung put more time or effort on optimizing the speed and smoothness... adding powerful hardware only are not enough.

Their way of doing that is the Google edition of S5.

Don't think that what he meant.
Optimize their features apps, kernel and their Touchwiz.

GPE is more like stock Android like Nexus line.

They are not going to do what he said because it eliminates the Samsungness of the Samsung.. if u know what I mean. That's why there is a google edition of the Samsung s4 and I think same will be done for the S5.

Then you shouldn't have mention that, and I quote:  because that is irrelevant to his statement. You totally missed his point. It has nothing to do with GPE.

Samsungness ? He said they're focusing too much in coming up with features than optimization them.
Just got to wait for dev to optimize them.

I beg to differ. You did not understand my explanation. It is only irrelevant because you do not understand. It is not in Samsung's nature to optimise the features, it is their core marketing strategy to sell the features in every new generation of their Galaxy series. If you put hundreds of features no matter how lean you make them, it will still take more resources and bog down the system.

The reason why there is a Google edition of the Galaxy series is to target the niche Nexus 5 group of consumers who are a minority. They do not need to revamp their whole design philosophy to cater for a small group of customers.

but what samsung does is too much.. who wants to have two app stores in one single phone? two music players, two on everything? that is why i went to choose nexus 5.

but now i realized that soft keys is not my cup of tea and no new phone comes with hardware buttons besides samsung (not sure with LG G2 or G3, need to test it, knock knock seems like a very useful feature), thus I probably have got to go with the new s5 or s4 after I got the money (which probably takes another 4-6 months, got other commitments) unless other people want to swap with my nexus.

BTW, how is the battery performs with official CM 11?
*
Try Xiaomi mi3.. Best phone in the market if u don't use LTE. The buttons are at the bottom of the screen. Just as fast as Nexus 5, bigger screen, 3050ma battery, good security, 13mp Sony Exmor camera.

Untunglah all that got other people asking bout Nexus. My new office, one day I go team lunch, all bring iphone 5s. I alone Nexus 5. Hahahaaha. Nobody looked and cared. Me sad nobody ask.

But I dont care though. I am a power user so Android all the way! Torrents, file manager, bluetooth transfer, nfc and wireless charging makes me happy. Its the little things. Hahaha

the nexus 5 is not suppose to be a bling bling phone after all.. if u want someone to notice buy Vertu with all those diamonds sure they ask.

i dun think mi3 is as hot as it used to be.. mi3 in sg is available at all time now.. so I would thk that its not easy to find a buyer for mi3..
power bank is the now hottest item..  laugh.gif

Very easy to find a buyer all depends on price. Buying at rm800+ later sell at rm600 sure better value than moto G.
