that why cant understand why people like to buy mainstream phone even though it is not that good

many find that note's spen is useful for them too.
i personally like xperia phones but $$ issue only

I have been using nexus 5 for about three weeks and as much as I love the smoothness of this phone, I cant wait to have some money to exchange it with a samsung phone, at least a samsung s4.

I was using a samsung s3 before that phone has a broken power button (keep booting over time by itself). Below is a list of what i feel the pros and cons of the nexus 5 over samsung s3:
Pros:
really smooth,
superbly smooth,
battery can last me a whole day with sot of more than 4 hours.

Cons:
no sd card ( seriously, a bummer),
camera is really pathethic ( ois makes all my pictures taken qith it blurry, color reproduction is so much worst compared to s3 and the s3 was so much consistent in taking pictures),
no smart stay (cant stand that i have to keep touching the screen everytime i read something using it),
no notification toggle like the touchwhiz( i know i can find apps that let me do it but i like the touchwhiz one a lot, you can scroll to see most of your settings toggle or you can click a button just beside the setting button and see all your settings, really miss this feature),
The nav soft keys ( really hate it, fast switching cant exchange with the fact that it is taking some space of the screen. When you are using different locker, this pathethic bar cannot be hidden)
love the app drawer animation of touchwhiz compared to fly in app drawer of the normal google launcher)
Multi window (love the time when i can play youtube and browsing internet or reading email or replying email at the same time)
Resale value (i sold my broken s3 to an unknown person just like that when that person saw me that i wanted to sell my s3 to a second hand shop in the city. nobody wants to buy or swap with my nexus 5 these past two weeks. I went to a second hand store in the city and ask how much can i get with this if i want to trade in with another phone, i can get about £120 with s3 but only £100 with the nexus 5, wth!!)

My wife is using a note 3 and everyday i feel jelous of her note 3 features. Rarely lag and most of the time is as fast as my nexus 5.

Btw mine is a uk set wrapped by an ultra fit copper gold spigen case.

its depend on your usage also..cant denied the camera on N5 not good enough compared to samsung phone..
but for me who rarely use camera on my phone..so not forcusing on the advantage of having good camera

Understand this. That's why most manufacturer develop their own TUI (skin) on their phone, while Nexus is purely from Android stock.
It's because you've been with Touchwiz, you start comparing them. That's why there's plenty of development for Nexus 5 that can add those (similar) functionality to N5. Sure, to use them, you might need to unlock bl and root, and not many users want to.

Edit: My previous phone is also from Samsung. But I do not want to compare because they are both different UI. However, my preference is pure vanilla AOSP with tweaks.

The only way that i think i can stay with this phone is by rooting and using custom roms. I do not have much choice at the moment. Got to stay with this phone. Let us wait and see what 4.4.3 can bring. I think i have been spoiled by the touchwhiz more than ive realized.

s3. Been using that s3 for like 2 years and feel like ive been spoiled by it. Agree that diff person has diff needs. For those who really cant stand with a lag, this phone is damed fast and smooth.

rooting and go for custom roms that have features that you want is the option...
for me I have some difficulty to adapt to the music player..since I used to have xperia.. I like xperia music player more becoz of sleep mode and shake ability which already build inside..not need extra apps for that

Have you tried searching for the xperia player port? IIRC, think in xda forum I've seen the port from Z2.

i have been usine N5 for one month and the only thing i do not satisfied is the charging indicator light.
There is not indicator light while my phone in charging.

same as me, i also jumped from S4 to N5

n what i loved on N5
-New damned chip...
-UI are damn smoothness (comparing w my custom rom'ed N3)
-OIS goodness (yeah, is better than hTc Ultrapixel? )
-storage (nah nth to me n i used it for 4months :3 n no-no "noobie" issues for me)
-fast updates from google (perhaps i talk cock ? )

n what i love on S4
-Optional SD
-13Mp? (sounds like "meh")
-function? (i used on Smart stay, optical reader n some goodiea stuff like dual camera n S-health on KK)
-4G > 3G , coz 3G damn easy to heat up for 2hrs for intensive gaming

Now i prefer to have the nexus player interface ...just want to have the shake ability and sleep mode...use xperia for more than 3 year so feel bored to the same interface

if you want the led indicator go find app from google play... there few available...

which one ease of use?

just go for any charging led app from store or some of custom rom also build in this feature.
I'm using app, I utilize our multi-color led when charging, start from low battery level: red, orange, yellow, white, blue and green+tone when 100% fully charged. so I'm aware of it and turn off the charger power.

I have try charging led, light manager but there is not indicator light show while charging. or should i root my phone to make use of this feature?

Sorry, have not used any xperia phone before. What's the shake ability and sleep mode?
Is shake ability: shake to change tracks?
Is sleep mode: like you set a timer when to off the music?
I thought some music player on the play store has these features?

I beg to differ. You did not understand my explanation. It is only irrelevant because you do not understand. It is not in Samsung's nature to optimise the features, it is their core marketing strategy to sell the features in every new generation of their Galaxy series. If you put hundreds of features no matter how lean you make them, it will still take more resources and bog down the system.

The reason why there is a Google edition of the Galaxy series is to target the niche Nexus 5 group of consumers who are a minority. They do not need to revamp their whole design philosophy to cater for a small group of customers.
