I create this treat is to provide free photography service and place for photographer to polish and share your photography skills.
Client can get free photography service for your event like pre-wedding, wedding, post wedding or etc.
Photographer can polish your photography skill by jump on real photo session, sharing with other photographers, and having fun with photography

This are criteria about the service:
- service is free
- client can get all images taken by photographers
- images taken can be published by photographer without approval from client (copyright is own by photographer and client)
- service is only in weekend or public holiday (depend on availability of photographer)
- client need to provide transportation, food/snack/water for photographer
- client need to provide costumes, make up and other property by them self
- maximum 5 photographers per session
- client cannot blame or sue photographer for any reason if they cannot satisfy or if bad thing happen
- photographers advised to provide post photo processing for client
- client advised to provide pocket money for photographer for their effort

While I'm not planning to join this, I would like to give you credit for your initiative here. Good job TS.

My suggestions is to let the volunteer photog choose their own preferences in what kind of task they will accept eg. event photog might only want to do food photography instead of event as he want to explore another field of photography.

Actually i created this threat is to provide free service to people who cannot afford photographer to documented their special event like pre wedding, wedding, post wedding, birthday party or etc.

Since service is for people special event, there will be beautiful dresses, places, leng lui, or etc can be photo subject for photog

We can manage to call model to be photo subject but we need collect money from each other since there are no sponsor here. If you can find sponsor it will be great or if you have leng lui friends or you are willing to be subject photo also can be consider
Or maybe we can do street, landscape, or architecture photography together is also welcome for me

I think it's good that we can be a platform for you guys to do something with your passion.

My advise to all the new photographers out there is that you might want to do EVERYTHING - that's fine as you try to discover your photography BUT in the end, it's best if you could specialize. Narrow it down to a few genre.

For example - you see a company that focuses on 1 service or few relevant ones, compared to a company that does everything under the sun. The one that does everything under the sun looks wouldn't look as impressive, right?

and also irritate the bride and groom who have to wait for all the photographers to take their turn take photo

I appreciate your advise, I do have this matter in mind, however from what I have learned from work and personal experience with my beloved fiancee, is that we must never assume the worst to happen, as there are unlimited ways to make things work if we want it to work, and if we not confident or say no to something before even happen, it will 100% fail.

Thus kindly let me discuss personally with the interested participants so that I may plan further details. (Please do refer to my earlier post for contact.)

I am trying to help out fellow photographers here, so nothing is impossible when plan and work out as a team. I believe the volunteers are wise and have experience in many events to know their limit and role. Much respect.

i think let the main photog do his job. other photogs i think they'll noe what to do, such as not blocking the main photog's angle and his workflow. I've shot in a event where theere were 2 videographers and 4 photographers, and it was quite smooth. if main photog is photographing the couple, maybe others could use a tele lens to capture moments!
btw, it's just my opinion.

My opinion is, too many cooks spoil the broth.

This team hasn't even met each other. But since everyone claims they all beginners I guess its easier to delegate roles/duty. When I observe a team of photographers they know their given roles.

Its something like this:
2 Primary photographers - one follow the bride the other follows the groom. They are not always together throughout the whole thing.
2 Secondary Photographers - Shooting guests and parents, registration, sniping special moment etc.
1-2 Reinforcements - Covering spots that aren't covered and maybe sometimes called in to deliver supplies like spare batteries, water, additional flash/light support.

There is no point of having a dozen photographers all in the same spot shooting away similar pictures like a news conference, unless of course that is what the bride and groom wants (maybe they want to feel like they are celebrisites surrounded by paparazzi).

I am agree with this, there are no point having dozen photographers in same spot.
That s why in first place i suggest max 5 member per session
But since all want to learn, i am not agree with division of primary, secondary and reinforcement.

My suggestion:
- dont bother the paid photographer. Let them do their job. We need to learn became ninja photographer (we are invisible )
- lowyat team need to rotate to different places with each other, so can have equal chance take good moment there.

Not too sure if I can manage. September seems so far away and I don't think I can really commit yet.

Also are we suppose to have a contract made too? Guess should set a meeting (with Mooze too) and discuss. the members list of the team haven't met each other yet either. Should also have mooze's wedding planner contact or whoever is in charge of the scheduling, would be great to also go to the rehearsals if there are any to see the environment/layout etc. Even free should simulate and practice the workflow like its a paid deal.

New videography project !

I'm involved in a short story very soon and I require some assistance from some of the awesome people here !

1. It's on the 20th of June (Next Friday)

2. We would require about 3-5 hours of your time filming this. Timing has yet to be confirmed, but it's probably in the evening.

3. It's an intriguing short story directed by an upcoming passionate film student. The team who planned this appeared in the Star/NST last week for a theater production.

4. I'm doing the videography along with one of my friend, however we definitely require assistance !

5. I'm doing this pro-bono myself. Basically, I'm doing this for free but I believe the experience is definitely worth it !

6. So what's in it for you ?

- For those who have little to no experience in videography, this is a good chance to find out the difference between photography and videography
- It's a short story and not a boring event ! Dabble in storyboarding !
- I'll be bringing some of my gears. So if you're interested in trying out some simple video equipments, here's a good chance !
- I guess they'll buy you free dinner lol

7. What you need to do !

- We need an extra videographer (bring your own gears if you can) !
- We need someone to record audio (I'll go through with you on how to get the great audio for your videos !)
- We need someone to help with the lighting. (yeah, this means carrying the reflector or using LCD lights... we'll take turns !)

I'm helping a film student in his project.

Location is at UPM. Uni Putra Malaysia.
Universities are one of the places that are very open to filming and relatively safer.
