I am a big fan of Alpha Centauri and definitely getting this.
The new quest system seems to be quite interesting.
It wont be a direct sequel to Alpha Centuri though, knowing how Firaxis design their games, they will always change some fundamental mechanics to provide a new experience.
Like what they did with Civ V with hexes and one unit per tile. And XCOM's more narrative driven gameplay.
Wanna buy this, but the problem is that I don't have time to play it. Oh and I'd rather wait for all the DLC's to be released, by then for sure discounted a lot already.
If the sales are good, there will be an expansion.
Firaxis did say that there are a few major features that they could not implement in time. One of them is water based tiles cities and even more faction diversification.
Hmmm, I waited too long for a spiritual successor for Alpha Centauri so I bought this from GMG before Steam even introduced local currency.
Turn-based games from Firaxis are one of the best.
A bit hard to say Firaxis is the best as nowadays, I think Amplitude who developed Endless Space and Endless Legends also have a lot of potential while had proved themselves with Endless Space. I didnt really like the game, due to the really dull combat but their support and communication is fantastic.
But I wont deny that Firaxis is still the best TBS company so far.
Just curious. I always thought drivers for mobile GPU are usually different from the desktop version.
The hardware itself is actually very similar. The only difference is, it is downclocked with some power saving hardware on it. Other than that, it is very identical to the desktop version.
There are modded desktop beta drivers for mobile GPUs and they run just fine. The only difference is they just modify an .ini file that allow the driver to be installed on the laptop.
