Hi all,

I am very interested to join Samsung Electronics Display Seremban (or for that matter, any Samsung in Seremban), specifically the SAP team.

So to anyone out there who works (or have worked before) in Samsung Seremban, regardless of teams/work nature, I really hope you guys can share some information in here.

I'd like to know the working environment there, the people, the work ethics, salary range, personal opinion, etc.

I had two friends who worked there before.

One was a line engineer which monitored the process lines dealing in CRT and LCD monitors.

The other one was R&D for microwave or household electronic items.

Both quit after a few months. Reason, work conditions suck and pay was too low. Management was screwed up as well.

I just attended an interview with samsung in Port Klang on Monday. There are 2 tests (Maths and Probability) before the actual interview. Position applied for is IT Exec/Officer. Was informed that the job role covers SAP etc.

Anybody else who knows anything else about this company?

Juz went to the samsung seremban interview today, the salary offer r quite low ler..juz 1.5k cross. Ok, dun talk bout salary..how u guys think bout working in samsung? Environment ok??

come on....Korean Company? you are in for torture man...they will "utilize" you to the fullest...so, unless you are workaholic, otherwise, pls dun expect any conducive working environment...

same goes with Japs and China companies...

samsung in seremban?they will squeeze you to the max and and pay low salary to you but you need to work longer for them.basically they suck.

Seem review from lowyatian on SamSung S'ban mostly negative woh...Better go for other co., opportunity wises. ..but the decision still in your hand...

Tat depart. manager told me tat u can learn many many things at here tat u cant learn it at others company. (means squeeze you to the max coz many workload n u need to work longer for them.)

She also said if u work here huh thn after 1 or 2 yrs u go out find job ar...all the employers knw u r from samsung thn u sure will easily get the job. Is tat true? But i am quite dissapointed v the pay la...samsung big company ler...So kiam siap 1 meh. Hahaha!!!

Samsung seremban canteen is dividen by 2 operator, chinese and malay. Chinese upper floor. Got nice pretty cashier.
Been there to install cables, wiring and trunking.

Fresh grad salary range is 1.8 - 2k in my place (non-engineering depts)..then there are also additional fixed allowances from rm200-rm400 depending on which department you're in..

Huh??? still can accept wo tat salary range. But wat they offer me is juz 1.5k only but havent confirm la coz need to discuss v HR ppl. Still got allowances from 200 to 400 wo...she told me tat tis 1.5k already add in those allowances. huh?? WTF???

What's the salary for a fresh graduate engineer at Samsung??

Are you degree holder or diploma holder? working experience? if you are fresh diploma, 1.5k is very good lo consider my company only pay 1.2k, no allowances.

If you are a fresh degree holder, find another job better. At KL/Selangor area, salary for fresh engineer in MNC manufacturing sector is around 2.4k.

There are 3 samsung plants located at same vincity..
1. Samsung Corning
2. Samsung SDI
3. Samsung Display..

Used to how there.....

Anyway, my best advise to u, stay away from all this company...especially 1 & 2..dying soon..

Fresh grad i think is around RM 2.3k for science grad & RM 2k for non science for SDI.

For Display, worst still..u employed in contract & the pay is less...

eventually the yearly increment is RM 30 to RM 60 onli...

Think bout it..

Better work in Klang Valley like wat i doing now..

I'm refering to Samsung Display.

So what company at Klang Valley give higher pay? What industry?

samsung display....umm ic ...

basically working hours is 8am to 5:30pm daily from mon to friday..

for sat, it's alternate & start work from 8am to 12pm...

so u been offer contract or permanent post??

bumping this topic coz just went to samsung display for an interview

dunno whether i can get the job or not.. even if i get the job, want to accept also very hard.. the engineering post is contract for 1 year, kenot leave within 1year, else have to pay

furthermore, the working hours is quite long la (8am-6pm, but got OT).. compared with texas instruments (flexi time, as long as can get 40hours/week)

This is the tactic they always used to tricks u to work in their company, even my ex-boss told me this kinda stuff on the first day i join samsung.

Basically their pay are below market rate , and u get OT and medical benefits , and somemore free lunch (if you are working in samsung factory).

Better avoid those samsung plant in seremban, their pay is too low.

u have to work OT in peak season..

low basic pay, forced OT.

this will cause you to get higher salary, but imagine if you have a family. where got the time to spend with them?

i think working in Samsung Sbn got the pros and cons le...depends on how u sees it... i have few friends working there... after 1 year still working there... but one quits after 1 year...

the thing is.. all my friends are from Seremban, therefore for them 2k - 2.3k is very good enough for a seremban ppl. very few companies offer more than that in Seremban that except the company i'm working now. Seremban, i can say its consider low living cost... with around rm90-100 u can get a room. compare to klang valley, maybe 300-400 (not sure)... that amount...u may can rent a house... food are not really that expensive.. and around senawang there are many food stalls available. so u can save more here.

okie now talk about the environment. this is what i heard. u cannot have lunch outside Samsung.. except for Friday and ur lunch time until 2pm. means u have to eat in the canteen. and i think the canteen food is not so nice.. and then...u cannot be late for even 1 min for work. if not sure get warning letter. normally my friends reach there half an hour earlier.. workload i think alot, Korean company i assume is liddat. and they tends to give u training at Korea but with bond... politics i not sure, and good or not for ur career advancement i not really sure.. haha.. i think if u are a fresh graduate.. alot can learn geh... all the best! =)

As long as you have 3.00 above should be ok.. as i have mentioned.. its around 2-2.3k =)

aptitude test-125 questions in 50 minutes. also got another 2 tests in 1 hour. ;P

Just received their call for interview invitation next wednesday..

I ask for 2.5k too, cz not only interested in working in Korea/Japan companies as all my friends working in K/J companies get starting salary around 2.2k basic only max.. and her reply make me quite shocked.. "2.5k only for basic only right" she gave me hint like 2.5 that I asked was too low.. lol

She told me they will be bonding for 1 year.. So I got a point here to demand higher salary right since it is bonded? haha

Or it is fix for position Mechanical Engineer.. 2.5k?

hi, i just got offered to work at Samsung Display. Technician post, 1.5k basic excluding allowances.
can anybody update me on how is the working condition at the plant now? Since I haven't accepted the offer as I'm unsure of working there judging from the not so positive feedback from this thread haha

Yeah the salary is 2.5k, no allowance, can OT for production, if office based job is 2.2k. Both in my knowledge are on contract term for 1 year.

The contract works like this - you are bonded with them 1 year. If you resign within the contract period, you will have to pay for the non-served period. Means - if you work 2months only then got offer from Schlumberger, you can quite and pay them RM25,000. It is fair according them because they are the ONLY company that provides (informal and job-needed) training, And if you get fired by them by 2 months also, they have to pay you for RM25,000. Fair isn't? If you are too incapable, they will fire you and you will get good money. They won't pressure you or throw you in the most remote department.

GOOD FOR
1. Samsung very-die-hard-fan
2. Fresh grad who is desperate for job, 1 year hunting no job
3. Desperate for job
4. Money is not a problem.
5. Time for yourself and life-work balance is not a consideration
6. Who want to learn, this is maybe a good place too learn
7. Live very near to this company, don't want go other place


NOT GOOD FOR

1. Aim high, ambitious - this is a Chinaman company...
2. You know you can get other job


Just my 2 cents.

And their staffs are not friendly too. Just the HR caller is friendly. Hardly give a look, what more a smile while we crossed in the alleys.

i agree. Got good and challenge side. Oledi worked 2 years ++, my salary now is good. Working style very challenge. Many projects and assignments. But, hey.....i learnt a lot here. Not teach in university. Now i no scared to present my project in front many people, including my big bosses. They shoot me questions and I can answer many of them. Confident oledi. Many of my uni friends say I upgraded. So far still ok working here.

I oledi work at Samsung SDI at Senawang for position Officer I at Sales and outgoing planner. For fresh grad they will give you 2.5k for position engineer I and officer I. During the interview they said even saturday and sunday you need to go work. But didnt mention about the time we leave. In the contract I have normal shift monday to friday from 8.00 to 6.00. But as I work there, you will be push from monday to sunday without having a rest day. You need to work for 7 day per week. The worse is, on saturday and sunday, you need to work until late night. My collegue have experience working 24hours without having much rest.

I think for you who want a live better not to consider to work at here unless you;re workaholic. Even though you get 4K plus OT, I think better you need to take care of your health. Just my opinion.

For those yang nak duit banyak mari la sini. For those yg nak ada kehidupan better jangan datang kerja sini. But the other department such HR maybe the work rate are not hectic like my department. They freely can cabot after 6.00pm and have a good rest on saturday and sunday.

After interview they will arrange for pre-employment medical check-up. I think, maybe around 1-2 weeks. Dunno, depend on them. But surely after 1 week interview you need to call them back and ask about your emloyment status.

Dah buat medical check up..hari yg sama lepas interview.. now oledi 1 week.. no call from samsung.. takut result medical check up je tak lepas..paling takut BMI ..overweight

And other news that i heard since I work there, hard to get position promote even you are already work with them for a long term.

Based on my exp, if you pass the Med Checkup, the HR will contact you within 2 week. I got an offer from them before, but I didn't go...

1. They offer my pay lower than i get back then
2. They did not honor my notice period. They ask me to enter straightaway and do not wanna pay notice period to my company.
3. I receive a better offer somewhere near their plant.

dont work for samsung sdiem. very bad management.. engineer need to do unrelated work ..sometime u kena lap bawah machine buat cleaning..benda benda mengarut...dan lagi satu kat sdiem ni takder kebebasan.
