I just use normal blender. If necessary, I put it through the normal sieve that you use to tapis noodles etc. Most of the food when you steam it, it's quite soft already. Don't waste your money. My baby's first food was carrots

i was tempted to buy a baby food processor... but in the end, i didn't...
and i will alternate d pureed food... pureed fruits/vege & cereals... sometimes, take the pre-pack... sometimes, home-made... let the baby try different things... i normally purchase my baby's food from iherb.com just key in discount code GTJ907 for US$10 discount (above US$40) you can check out different flavours... apple & butternut squash, green bean, pear & pea.. etc... my baby likes them.... not expensive... $2.00 for one... here, it's RM7.90-9.90 for one... also very convenient to bring for meal times outside... baby is happy, mummy is happy... I also started off with just using my normal food processor, but for my son's birthday, someone gave us the Avent food processor. OMG, it HALVED the time it took to make him his purees! So fast, ok. Not just the cooking and blending, but the clean up too! Because it's all in one thing.
I was so sad that I only got it when he turned 1yo.... He refused purees just 2 months later. I still pull out the Avent food processor when I want any puree. It's so fast and so easy to clean. I use the stick that came with it with ALL my food processors! If you're a FTWM with limited time and plenty of money, I'd say it's worth buying during a sale. |

I use normal blender. If your blender is too big for one meal, you can cook for a batch and split into several meals. Can keep the freezer.
I make blended ABC soup means boiled potato, carrots, onion and some chicken. Once boiled until it softens, can blend. Before I blend, i would remove some of the soup to control the thickness of the puree. If too thick I can add more soup into the puree. I also give pureed apple, or smashed banana (use a fork will do), toufu fa (without sugar or just give plain tofu), very ripe mango, squashed strawberries (with fork). |

QUOTE(blacktortoise @ Jun 3 2014, 10:03 PM) I use normal blender. If your blender is too big for one meal, you can cook for a batch and split into several meals. Can keep the freezer. When starting, its better to start with 1 type of fruit, at a time. So that baby can taste what that food is like. Also in case cirit birit also can identify source. |
