define hot
u wan fame more or money more ?

how do i define hot...i define hot as a job as which will become job that mostly needed by society from whole world (not just m'sia) . And thus many ppl will be doing that job.
QUOTE(rexis @ Jul 27 2006, 09:56 AM)
you left out:
- mecenary/hired killer = when wars happened, and the nations become outlaw.
- FARMER = this is the backbone of a nation economy! Badawi also think so.
*
LOL..i would never think of FARMER~ as more ppl get educated, no one will willing to become a farmer..except for those rural folks. while, for hired killer, ask urself, will u wanna become a killer? biggrin.gif

Well... here are the top wanted jobs within the next 5 years. Top jobs doesn't mean getting paid a lot but those that will be in demand and a shortage will exist.

1. Doctors
2. Nurses
3. Dentists
4. IT Auditors
5. Financial Auditors

Truth and Myths...

i agree a pt from cktwai.. that is..when everybody think that a certain job will be popular job in few years...they would rush into it and therefore it would become saturated industry thus affect those ppl who do this discipline to become jobless.

Well... here are the top wanted jobs within the next 5 years. Top jobs doesn't mean getting paid a lot but those that will be in demand and a shortage will exist.

1. Doctors
2. Nurses
3. Dentists
4. IT Auditors
5. Financial Auditors

Truth and Myths:-
1. We will never have very good demand for jobs like financial planners. Reason is simply because these are not "specialised" fields. Almost anyone can be one. So if demand is there people will "rush" into this sector. After which they'll find themselves in a saturated industry 3-5 years later.

2. Biotech, genetic engineering and pharmacists jobs will increase. Yes it will increase but everyone do notice the amount of pharmacists and biotech ppl who will be graduating ? IMHO this field will become pretty much saturated in the near future. Anyhow how many biotech projects will there be in m'sia?? How many pharmacies can there be when the government makes dispensing of medicine their duties?? Compare it to the number of people graduating and you'll get a saturated industry.

3. Financial auditors and IT auditors will remain a job that will be highly sought after in the next 3-5 years. Simply because there is this SOX requirement that requires "extensive" amount of auditing to be done on big companies. This is starting in the US, if other countries follow (in most cases they do) there will be a big demand for these two groups of people. Even in M'sia you see some changes in the accounting system that requires financial auditors to do some "extensive" work to verify accounts and stuffs.

4. Expect the lives of people who are in these industries to get worse:-
a) Service Industries like those ppl working in hotels, mcdonalds, etc. Why ? These industries will continue to get pretty much saturated. Their salary and benefits will remain the same. The thing that'll make lives harder for these ppl will be the inflation. Therefore this is a sector not advisable for anyone starting out fresh.

5. Semiconductor / Manufacturing - These two industries will also get saturated in M'sia. Too many ppl graduating in these sectors and a lot of companies are deciding on switching their investments to China / India.

6. Shared Service - Will continue to strive in M'sia. Malaysia is lucky. Perfect place for Share Service Centers. Why? We have indians to serve India, we have Chinese to serve China. Both of which can serve areas like US, Europe and etc. There'll be a trend whereby companies will setup Shared Service centers in M'sia. Specific examples currently already in M'sia are like IT Help Desk, Application Supports, Hosting, Payroll Processing, Cheque Processing, Claims Processing, etc.

I think I've rant enough. Hope this enlightens everyone...

thanks for your info.. i find it very true...personally for me.. i feel financial and IT auditors as well as shared services is the industry that will boom.. not sure if the pay will increase to 'high' salary or not thought.. but i can see in shared services nowadays especially in IT help desk.. there's a quietly steady rise in their pay income.. pls correct me if im wrong.. coz this is just my opinion and not based on any statistics or whatsoever.. hehe

Simple reason being for IT and Financial auditors to be in demand is... this is something that is not really taught in university.. Something which u cannot graduate with. This means u need to be affiliated with a type of organisation or company to gain the experience.

IT Help Desk will not get a very high pay income. Why? Simple reason is these jobs are "anyone from university" can do type of jobs. These aren't "skilled / profesional" jobs.

In other words, does it matter if my IT Help Desk guy who provides support have 8 years or 3 years of experience providing help desk services?? Pay difference of an IT HElp Desk guy of 3 years and 8 years will not be a lot... The smart people will be able to figure out why... smile.gif
