With the cancellation of project littlebit due to the need to go home theatre..

Which do you think has the bigger posh and WAF? It's gonna sit under a big LCD or Plasma.

Although I'm still lookin around, it's pretty much shortlisted towards these 2:

3R System HTPC case (exact name dunno yet as it's not public release yet I think)

Pros:
- Cheaper purchase price when considering the bundled VFD
- One of the quietest around (no holes everywhere)
- Supports full ATX
- Neighbours won't have one

Cons:
- Temps aren't that good
- Rather wide (though normal for HTPC)

Silverstone SG01

Pros:
- Always wanted one
- Looks good
- Takes up less space
- It's a Silverstone

Cons:
- Rather noisier than the 3R
- mATX only (means only 2 PCI slot.. limited add ons like multiple tuners, sound card etc)
- 33% more expensive if add on a VFD.

Waddaya think?

That one is mini-itx ler.. so firstly, the board itself is mega mahal, the case itself is uber mahal, only one PCI slot...cannot fit TV tuner + sound card + WLAN card and whatever crap that I might fit in later tongue.gif

Ya lar boss but don't think the wife would approve tongue.gif

Price wise..the 3R from auction is about RM600 and the SG01 + media lab VFD remote set is about RM860

ps:

I suspect 3R and Ahanix uses the same manufacturer for their HTPC cases. The layout of the interior are slightly different niah.

Yeah.. damn stim with LC04 too. Only problem is that it fits TFX psu only and they're hard to find...and that ya gotta use risers for add on cards.

TV tuner is a must di..then sound card... PCI riser still ok lar but PCI-E riser memang damn hard to find unless the shop carry those silverstone ones as well.

Support ATX also no use ler.. all the add on cards has to be on risers. So you can put in maximum 2 cards niah.

It comes with the psu ler...but only 2 options... 240W or 300W.

Niamah. Oouhh crap... I've just notice that LC04 can put max 2 cards only. Meaning i can only put 1 PCI card. And the other one is graphic card. Headache wacko.gif I guess for the PCI one, i need to drop the TV tuner. Or another option is to get a USB soundcard. Haih...

Anybody knows any shop at LowYat selling HTPC cases? I'm thinking of building a HTPC when I get back home early next year and wondering if HTPC case is cheaper than the one here in UK. I'm looking one with a big KNOB and blue VFD .. Zalman HD160 looks nice, the same goes the Antec Fusion as above.

I think you still can manage more on the cables for better cooling, initially the layout was ok, if full use all the fans hole will be even better, ofcause silent fan la, even the HSF wink.gif

U should give GD01MX a try cause it's VFD can support multi-language and the remote is compatiable with MCE remote and keyboard. Beside that, it have the card reader too.
