QUOTE(wodenus @ Jun 27 2014, 04:47 PM) Then we will get them on bait and switch.. I think it would pretty much be illegal to just raise the price for existing accountholders. Maybe new ones have to pay, but existing ones will probably be grandfathered It's a possibility. Broker in UK did the same to me - applied a fixed annual fee % on overall holdings in the account - applied to every customer. Of course you have the option of transferring out.

So much hostility here the last few pages FWIW, I also read it as 100K between the 2 funds. Anyway, agree with PS - what's relevant here is % allocation between funds and what % of liquid assets that represents I guess UT prices will get hit a bit, maybe time to top up a bit , let's see

QUOTE(woonsc @ Jul 18 2014, 10:31 PM) How do you see if the funds is up or down if you don't own them? QUOTE(azeL_Inc @ Jul 18 2014, 10:46 PM) One way is to track those funds in Fund Watch thru Android FSM app. I quite like the Bloomberg website for tracking funds that I'm interested in, just create a username and add the funds you'd like to watch on a watch list I only ever log into FSM when I want to buy or sell

I've had good returns with "Special Situations" funds in the past so may give it this a go.

QUOTE(woonsc @ Aug 24 2014, 03:28 PM) Can recommend any US broker? I quite like TD Ameritrade's interface Most of the popular ETFs have 0 sales / purchasing charge. Only downside of US listed ETFs is you pay 30% withholding tax on dividends which you can claim back half of it via a tax return. You can also buy Singapore listed ETFs which don't have this issue ... but less choice and I imagine higher fees. (Same goes for UK, Luxembourg (Ireland? Not sure) listed ETFs I believe
