Why does my cash management fund's COST always increase after switch buy?
*
Not just that the yield is also on the upward trend.

Could be the market is anticipating another interest hike by year end.

Just my noob opinion.

IS there a correlation between US stock market and unit trust?

If the fund is heavily invested in US but usually global market will generally follow US wind.

I am trading through FSM SG. Their charging structure is different.  If your transaction volume is not high and trading in long term, then eunittrust SG is much cheaper.  Although I prefer the FSM web interface and presentation

Our beloved region is being re-emphasized:

Why Asian Equities Are Poised To Head Higher

ASIAN EQUITIES POISED FOR FURTHER GAINS?

In summary, a wider acknowledgement of China’s slower growth rates alongside recent signs of economic stability in the Middle Kingdom should help to steady GDP growth forecasts for the region. This in turn should have a stabilising effect on Asia ex-Japan earnings forecasts, after three consecutive years of negative revisions (from 2011 to 2013). With little else which could emanate from China that has the potential to shock investors further, we believe that Asia ex-Japan’s low valuations coupled with signs of stabilising profit growth forecasts and a lack of additional negative news will eventually see investors returning to the undervalued market, particularly one which we expect to deliver a 19.3% annualised return by end-2016 (on the basis of a reversion to a 14.5X PE).

Investors will note that our assessment of stock markets depends heavily with the concept of mean reversion; the main shortcoming of such a fundamental mean reversion approach is that it does not identify when a reversion to the mean will occur, which means our use of valuations as a stock market measurement tool does not tell us precisely when an undervalued stock market will eventually rise, and conversely, when an overvalued stock market will decline.

Acknowledging this shortcoming, we urge investors to take a more patient approach with their investments in the 5-star rated Asia ex-Japan market.

After 3pm, will be considered the following day.

3pm is the cut-off time. Money must reach by 3pm.

I'm not sure how fast does it take to process the switching out from CMF.

I won't want to do it at the very last minute.

How fast? How fast is your typing and clicking speed.

U complete the transaction (i.e. finish typing your password and click OK) at 2:59PM u still get same day transaction.

Thanks for pointing out but I hate to be so rushy. I don't want to make mistake.

What if you have ponzi fund that it is getting well above 15%, you will sell and buy back when the biggest region (China+HK) exposure have a correction?
*
Actually I have 3 funds which have simple ROI > 10/15%.

Everyday I receive the daily alert even though I feel irritated.

Well, I'm still thinking of the strategy.

The alert I set inside FSM.

My model is simple:

Gain side: 10/15% from average unit price
Stop loss: -10% from average unit price

Hehehee  whistling.gif

FSM just will trigger based on the NAV number you keyed.

Each time you topped up, you need to re-calculate and re-enter the "new" NAV for alert.

hmm.gif just remembered...few weeks ago, i managed to talk to a FM during a seminar.
she hinted this strategy...might worth think it out.

if the fund had made 10% (value is just an example, could be of any value you want)
...cash / transfer out the 10% (keep this 10% at a safer asset)
rational....if you did not take it out.... if the fund made another 10% this 10% of earlier gains will just made another 1% of the amount.
ex....1000 + 10% = 1000 + 100

another 10% = 1100 + 100 + 10

if you take out that 10% gained earlier.....
and if the fund grow another 10%, you will just lose out the 1%

BUT,...you will have 10% of the BULLETS to shoot turkey in a corrections.....else all you invested amount + the 10% gained MAY be in "RED" during the correction.

what you think? i am still thinking about that too....

This is called portfolio rebalancing. It's expensive if no switching facility.

hmm.gif i think that the 10% switch would not be considered a portfolio rebalancing...because it did not affect much of the portfolio allocation....i guess just about minor % changes.
*
Somebody posted the warp account thingy. It has been explained there.

You can to call portfolio tweaking, fine-tuning, re-balancing or anything you like. It's just a terminology.

Once you're reviewing your portfolio, there's usually a non-equilibrium stage from the initial condition that you have set earlier; let's 60-40 proportion.
