What is the cheapest ultra hd monitor ?

I think there's a Samsung one... UD590...
But it costs USD659, and it's a TN panel...

There's also the Dell UP2414Q, unfortunately these are TN panels, and only capable of 30Hz refresh rates...
Honestly I don't see the need of 4K monitors for now. Too expensive for gamers and photo editors, and budget ones are not appealing to both users due to lack of colour accuracy and refresh rates. Not to mention you need a dual GPU setup for gaming at 4K.

A quality 1440p display is still a much better option though.

The new MSI laptop supports 4k resolution. Will I able to get a 1440p monitor below 700 ? Which monitor would you suggest that comes with 1440p, any price ?

700? No... need to top up at least RM300 more for a 1440p display... (Crossover 27Q, Qnix QX2710 and X-Star DP2710)
Note that such displays would require monstrous GPU power to drive at native (4K) resolutions... and most likely those displays are TN panels at 30Hz refresh rates... 30Hz refresh rates are often avoided by gamers (especially FPS gamers).. A high quality 1080p/1440p would be much better, and you do not need to worry about scaling issues...

BTW, newer MSI gaming laptops have 3K displays (i.e. 2880x1620)... which is somewhat closer to 1440p resolutions...

UP2414Q is NOT TN panel, it is IPS. the 28" model is TN, running at 4K 30Hz, UP2414Q is IPS 4K 60Hz. Get your facts straight please.

This is Dell P2815Q. Runs 3840x2160 at 30Hz. 28" TN panel. Priced "affordably", which usually is a clue for shitty specs.

To TS, get the UP2414Q. The cheapest 4K 60hz monitor available now. Other monitors are running at crappy 30Hz refresh rate. 3840x2160 at 60Hz would require minimum 780Ti in Dual-SLI, or 290X in Crossfire, minimum. Unless you're happy with running 4K in medium, a single 780Ti or 290X does that.

Be adventurous. Don't stay at resolutions 10 years past at 1080p. 1440p is interim. 4K is futureproofing your setup, but only if you can pair with a similarly powerful setup as well. I run my Tri-SLI Titan setup on Asus PQ321Q 3840x2160 at 60Hz, and Crossfire R9-290X on the Dell UP2414Q at 60Hz.

4k will soon replace 1080p as a norm,
But to play games on a 4k with a smooth fps is far from reality.
But if Nvidia and AMD new tech could manage it with a single card solution I would look forward in investing.
