second time this has happened to me, started the car as usual but the screen refused to start up. just stayed at the mazda logo loading screen for the entire drive. restart the car also same thing.

happened a few weeks ago before also but when i drove the next day everything was fine hmm.gif

anybody experience this before?
hi, mine infotainment totally blacked out. 1st time happen before 1k service. SC glenmarie reset only. 2 weeks later, happened again.. this time they do wiring check- no fault. so just update infotainment software to latest. so far nearly 1 week later still ok. if happen 3rd time, probably change the whole infotainment set? probably.. seems its a known problem oversea... managed to get copy of the troubleshooting procedure sheet.. later post the pic.. (i was the 1st to complain/refer at glenmarie, 2nd person made appointment for next week..).. sad.gif

HI guys I have a couple of questions if someone can assist:

Been using my M3 for a couple of months now got it in March and the issues i faced:

1) FC = Average is 11.2 but on a full tank it only goes up to 420-430km. is this normal? the tank is 52lit le

2) I also had the screen blackout once and after the software update by the SC in puchong I notice the Istop is behaving erratic . Meaning it use to stop and wont start till i let go the brek or lever to D. But now it doesn't matter what i do it starts back all of sudden not minding its in N or brakes are ON.

Any ideas?

Cheers

The iStop could be kicking in because the engine has stopped for too long and the aircon is running out of juice. So the car automatically starts back to keep the aircon cool.
*
That makes sense in terms of weather.. the weird part is that its more frequent now after the update then previously.

1) my full tank also around that range, not sure is normal...b'cos your FC = 11.2 is an average number, I believe cannot be an absolute calculation as = (52/11.2) x 100....

2) the engine restart is also triggered by moving the stirring wheel....
*
well good to know my mileage is about right then. Nope no moving the steering here. Thanks bro

Hi bro, the FC very subjective as in many factors will cause it having high FC, such as traffic condition & ur foot <= (critical). I'm having 8.7-8.8L/100km nw with 100% city drive with less jam. Usually switch gear below 3k RPM and using paddleshift often to make it smoother change. Full tank mostly >500km , worst is 48xkm, that time try on BHP 97 (shell 97/vpower racing better FC) . Suggest you download an apps call FuelLog in iOS/android, it will calculate the FC. Our fuel tank is 52L but when we pump during yellow usually is only 43-48L only, so can't calculate base on the 52L cause it's inaccurate.

I'm having screen blackout too, twice already and went to Mazda Sg besi , they perform the reset only since they don't have update of that. Seems like Puchong , glenmarie and PJ already have the update (v29) , I'll go to 1 of those branches.

About the i-stop, from my experience it usually will stop maximum 2min, after that restart. So if ur still in traffic , put to D and shift Bk to neutral will help. Whenever there is hot climate, it will restart more frequent no matter which gear & foot on break not.
Hi bro, I encounter this twice, suggest u to go PJ, Puchong or glenmarie to update the software of infotainment (v29)
*
Ehm ok bro will try that out(fuelLog) I have been frequently using Shell 95 and haven't tried 97 yet.. might try to switch and see the results but 97 very expensive dude.

Noted on the Istop.

Shell 95 I think is the worst among all branded RON 95 , try bhp 95 once.

I pumped BHp full tank last week due to no nearest other options.. dont see much difference ..so far done 305km and balance fuel is quarter tank.

my infotainment cant read the usb now...
it playing song half way then hang there...
other menu still able to access...only the usb...
i try to plug the usb into my laptop, is able to read...
anyone experienced this before?
*
Hi bro I had this problem at first..USB works on my pc and my old car player but not in the Mazda. My strange fix was to reformat the usb drive a couple of times and reload the songs. SInce then no more issues.. Even for bluetooth need to update ur phone latest os to connect.

cheers!

hi all m3 owner, have you all tested how fast can you done with you beauty? my records is not nice sad.gif
*
Hi guys just manage to test the mileage on my trip from kl - ipoh - Penang - full tank filled 95 petronas got the mileage 570km and avrg = 6.9/100km . I feel that the consumption much better compared to my town driving whereby I get only 430km and average: 11.1km/100km.

Tested top speed 190km before i ran out of free roads thanks to the speeding myvi's and Audi's on the highway.

i can't get such nice fc in my beauty, cos once i step into the car i already feel like zoom zoom her...i just can't stop it...
i also tested max for 195kmh only, but need 5th gear to drag until 4-5k rpm...
looks like you like to chase after myvi, y?
*
Not chase after bro..avoid them as they are a blady risk on the roads.. they can zig zag left and right doing 140km on the highway not bothered about others.

i'm afraid of the engine mounting and the starter as you mentioned. it getting louder and bigger vibration when i travel longer...
can you still achieve good fc if you turn off istop? 8L/100km?
*
Hey I want to know this as well!.. Initially I wanted to try it myself but then I said to myself if it does save fuel without the Istop I should hv gotten the CX-5 not the Mazda 3 and also Mazda should have known the istop doesn't serve its purpose if all those saved fuel doesn't reduce our fc right?

how do i know if there is something wrong with my beauty eloop?
i've asked them do i need to update the eloop during my 1st service last monday and they told me it's affected for mazda 6 only.
mazda 3 is not affected...so i assume they will nvr check for me...
*
If you receive the letter do it bro..but maybe all those coming this month would have been updated. No worries 3 years warranty so anything happens you still dont pay a cent. Just need to waste a couple of hours at their center or worst case scenario car does stall sue their ass off!

Timing belt doesn't make noise la.. Its either your air cond compressor belt or your alternator belt.

So, wanna trust Bermaz? Like they say that I-Eloop does not affect Malaysia...
*
Well that depends on individuals bro.. there is good and there is the bad. Volkswagon is a premium badge in Msia but even they had so much issues on the DSG and that affected business so much that now they are giving so much discounts and warranties which previously was not heard off.. Imagine a Jetta now goes for 130-140k (Made in Msia)?!

For those that justify why this car is expensive?

a. Skyactiv Technology- You can get 162HP and able to achieve FC at 8.5L per 100km. Compression of 14:1 is the highest in the world currently. (Although I dunno what it means. tongue.gif)

b. KODO design - If you look sideway, it looks like those Conti Sport Sedan (Jaguar, Mers, etc) but those are above RM220k. This one consider cheap.

c. MZD and Control - Similiar to BMW i-Drive. The cheapest BMW is RM209k.. What else do you want from Mazda?

d. Although only got I-Eloop and I-Stop, already my colleague are impress with the technology. I-Eloop is the main thing why I bought this car.

That is why Bermaz is selling higher because they know this is already one of the best seller in the world and receive lots of praises. In fact, never seen any car that is the "Car Of The Year" finalist in many countries and continent.

Expensive? Maybe but you look at the design, you cannot deny it's a sexy sport sedan. Even now, still got people show up and say, this car looks damn good. And still got girls looking.. Sadly, I got faceproblem.  cry.gif

This I have to agree the simple reasons that made me buy it! and the testimonials.. i had like 4- 8 people walk up to me and said wow the car looks hot! Made a popular guy since the car makes people get warm to me. hahaha
