Actually mandoncry,u just send ur resume and try ur luck at velosi.It is an 3rd party inspection company,and yes u need to travel frequently to offshore platform to do ur testing job.But dun worry,u ain't rig worker so u are not like bruce willies in the movie armagedon.The safety is strict and if u are successful got selected,u will be train how to handle all those emergency.
If you are the person who like to move around,duwan monotoneous job then u can give a try(and be brave too) if vice versa,then go get a office job.

oh..chong u r the exploration side...

it depends la..cannot say exploration is tougher...it consist of different ppl and work to make up the whole.
some is at the supply ship standby for platform,exploration also got diff category,inspection etc

still the same la..if u are homey person then forget it..

yes the allowance is the one that boost ur salary.Particular is depend on individual...since u r fresh grad,basic is propotional to ur experience and qualification then is alrite,have a few years there to gain experience.You learn alot.

haha yeah piper alpha accident was way long time ago ..cause of it is the fail of using work permit.
And..is not necessary for you to know how to swim to go the platform,and you need to go through a medical test to see if u have any chronic desease.
During a massive fire where u can't get to the muster station,or access to any life raft..all platform ppl are trained to jump down..During piper alpha time,the safety training and stuff is still quite sucky.
Dun worry about the safety and emergency,you need to pass the training for all those stuff inorder for you to go offshore.

Yes..chong.BOSIET training..just finished mine with sequ.Oh yeah,and helicopter underwater escape training as well.iF you don't know all this,incase of an emergency,then sorry la..
