Friday means next week already. and only 8 preorders, that is a very sad story. Hope they wont make the same mistakes with the leaked "lumia 830" phone
*
Doubt its just 8 pre-orders -- blink.gif there are other stores beside lowyat taking pre-orders..

Can wait - still using N8 .. (pre-ordered at KLCC)

Wanna try.. But worried about the overheat n  battery issue...
*
No problems with mine.

Earlier had issue with battery draining quite fast when using wi-fi - solved it by turning off certain features (facebook running in background) and wi-fi sense.

Hey WP users, do y'all have battery sudden drain issue?
*
On my 930, happened once yesterday - was charging on the Qi wireless. Took it off charging once reached 100%.

The phone heated up and drained battery - by the time i realized, it drained until 85%.

So i turned it off for 15 mins. Cooled down and turned it on - was fine after that.

Not sure if it was caused by wireless charging..

Do you have Cortana pinned on start menu? If do, just unpin it, it cause the battery drain.
*
Oh.. no Cortana - using Malaysia region.
Probably some app causing the drain.

*
So far - no.
For me i use a flip-cover that came with the pre-order (ROCK brand), when i answer call, i flip open, and the slide to answer appears. The i close flip-cover (theres a slit near the speaker area to allow this). When finished speaking, i lift the flip-cover, the screen appears with details of the call.

Guys, any idea where to get accessories? I hate this flip Rock cover lol.

QUICK REVIEW UPDATE:
-Battery life has definitely improved (probably after disabling some bg apps)
-Heat issue is becoming less and less
*
Yeah, battery can last 1.5 to 2 days for me - moderate use (whatsapp, photos, browsing).
Still gets warm sometimes (angry birds).

Found some cases here - there's even official ones:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/cat/Lumia-930-Cases.htm

Wonder why they didn't give the official Nokia case during pre-order... wink.gif hmm.gif

does any1 have problem with his double tap to open screen?
i found out that i need to tap it very hard only it will take command.
and i found another way to double tap.
i have to press hard on the top right side of the screen. i can see clearly that the screen go into the casing. then only double tap the screen.
this way i can tap it softly. then it will recognize my double tap.

so my question is, whether your screen is flat with the aluminium side case or it float out about 1mm and it is pressable?
*
No double-tap problem on mine, responds on soft double-tap anywhere on the screen - aluminium side doesn't float and not pressable also -- quite firm and flat.

Sounds like a defective unit -- should be changed asap ...

just checked
update not up yet

Maybe have to wait for "Denim" update ... as the this update seems to be mostly to enable Cortana for UK and China...
Countries like UAE and india still do not get the update yet.

mine always last around 12hours or more depends on usage. none of my smartphones managed that...

my usage is usually only heavy when I dont have PC right in front of me, which is lunch time and few hours after work activity...
*
Seems like it matches the advertised spec - 9hrs wifi browsing.

I don't use it continuously - maybe about 10 mins browsing every 4-8 hrs - so mine can go 2 days before the next charge - with data on 2g and set to OFF when not in use. Battery saver - almost every app is set to 'allow' except skype.

so far i just could blame its 5 inch size is too big to fit my palm. I droped it 5x but still charm... Other than that, it is perfect.
*
Its also quite thick after installing the casing - which was why i got the 830 and keep the 930 as a spare/second phone - also because i wanted the glance feature, removable battery and sd card.

Also its the last lumia with 'nokia' branding...

Do consider the 830 as it is slimmer - very nice to hold after installing a custom polycarbonate casing.
