Hi All, I'm new L930 user (just 1 day). I just found the screen is flickering (either in Facebook or IE, while in white background more obvious) especially when the mobile data line is no good (falls from H+ to E), and I try to google then found this

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2014/07/german-no...een-flickering/

I try to manually switch to use Edge(2G) instead of 3G the screen is flickering occasionally (especially during data loading)

However my unit is Malaysia Zitron set (not AP nor German set, LOL), just wonder any L930 user here experiencing same problem or is common issue? If just my unit has problem (defective) I may need to go Nokia centre already smile.gif

Hi ya, the video in the link above "Google" page refreshed once. The screen flickering not really noticeable in that video, maybe this one more obvious

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvsk9_XugMs

it is like interference of old television (dark and white bars or lines running up and down)... biggrin.gif

Tested many times on my L930, it not happen on 3G, only on 2G (Edge)... I'm using DiGi, not yet tested with other telco because the rest not nano sim...

Thank you all for the given info, in such case better to claim warranty since no one encounter this, ya I also don't think is telco dependant since they are use same standard for 2G and 3G (correct me if I'm wrong)

I checked from Wikipedia, Digi and Celcom is on different band for GSM (which I believe what GPRS/EDGE is riding on)

Though I can't say for sure if it will cause any interference with the hardware.

mmm... ya possible. However quite hard to accept the new device only working for celcom and maxis but not work for Digi. If it is new standard like LTE there is still possible incompatibility maybe can accept, but EDGE has been used for many years already smile.gif
Or Nokia (or MS mobile) will say, not our problem, is DiGi problem biggrin.gif

I'm not worried about incompatibility... but more on increasing production/testing tolerance to rush the product into the market or cost cutting on shielding materials, and part of the decision to do that can be "small number of people is using it so we won't expect it to mass number of problems..."

which for me, deserves a facepalm... hope that is not the case...

Totally agreed with you. Nokia always well-known for good built quality. Cannot imagine the flagship model if there is shielding issue (due to cut cost?) that cannot fixed by firmware update in future. Even cheaper china phone manufacturers seldom have such issue.

If all/many units has such issue -> design defect
If only few or my unit has such issue -> QC no good

Since in Malaysia, the 3G coverage still not so satisfactory especially in rural areas, we still depend on EDGE. Cannot imagine to surf or fbing on new Lumia 930 with old analogue TV quality (with interference lines) even with Full HD screen. Very annoyed and already send back the unit to the reseller after 2 days (less than 48 hours) since getting the device, however they said still depend on manufacturer (Nokia or Zitron) to check to see can refund or 1 to 1 replacement. Hopefully they don't return back my existing unit to me and claim there is no problem sad.gif

Hope now Nokia doesn't change "Connecting People" to "Connecting Profit" biggrin.gif

I'm not sure if it's WP or the hardware, but I've seen lots of issues with Nokia devices since the 920.

My own 920 began showing vertical lines less than a year of ownership.

My 630 has some shadows at the top of the screen that are visible on light or white backgrounds.

At the Nokia store Gardens Mall I notice the 1520 and 1020 units have screen burn in.

Sad to hear that, hope they able to improve quality on future models so we still able to get good devices. The only attracting me is their camera, like they put a lot research effort on it. Hope the brand not spoiled by QC and marketing.
