Thanks guys for your inputs. I finally got it yesterday at DirectD, although I feel I probably overpaid for it? Phone was sold at RM1639, but I chose the white color and needed to top up another RM30 for it, and since I took 0% EPP, there was an extra 8% charge. Total came to RM1799, but it was the price to pay since I took the monthly instalment. Still worth it for me. And it's original as well, comes with 1 year Nokia warranty. The salesguy threw in couple of the usual freebies.
Used it for less than a day so far, happy with it. Although the only thing's bugging me is the battery overheating quite frequently. First happened during the initial setup and all the software updates, I thought it was a one off. Then it happened when I was using it for some time and also during charging. Is it a common problem or it's a defect unit? Has Microsoft/Nokia acknowledged this issue? I'm quite worried about this as this is a premium phone and this should not be happening, or am I missing anything here? Some say it's due to the aluminium finish on the sides, which transmit heat more directly than often. Do you guys think I should contact Nokia or go back to DirectD? Will this impact the performance of the phone in the long run, or affect the battery life or the "motherboard" inside the phone?
Besides the overheating, I'm having no issue whatsoever so far, touchwood. As expected, the OS is killing it. I'm a fan of the new Microsoft design language which is minimalistic and clean. Only drawback so far is the lack of apps choices on the store, but I heard Microsoft is more strict on the apps' security and stability released on its App Store compared to Google on Play Store, just like Apple. I would rather have this rather than the overpopulated Play Store with gazillions of clone apps with possible virus or unstability.
Lastly, I hope this phone can be future-proofed, it has all the capabilities and specs, enough to sustain for at least the next 5 years in my opinion. I mean, 2 GB of RAM for a smartphone is ALOT. Heck even Iphone 6 Plus is only using 1GB and look still how smooth and slick it runs. Kudos to the developers. I'm very confident Microsoft developers too are behind this idealogy to fully utilize all the resources available, being it RAM, CPU, GPU, etc. And Microsoft has promised that all Lumia phones will get Windows 10 update, that's great news even for the mid and low end Lumia users, shows that Microsoft cares for their older and less premium customers, unlike many other Android manufacturers.
So, anybody got any fun/useful apps to recommend? I'm still learning to use the phone, and having loads of fun. Sadly there's no Google Maps on the store, and the current map app on the phone really sucks, any alternative besides Waze? Also, any nice games to play?
Thanks

heat while usage is normal. it's not a defect, and not exclusive to Nokia or Microsoft systems. my nexus4 does the exact same thing. for me, nothing to worry about but in the long run you might see battery life degradation sooner. i had mine since the day it released and my battery is still better than my old nexus4 despite the minor degradation.
app store reliability is a little misleading in my opinion. still a lot of scam apps still in the store. but it is a little less worrying nowadays because a lot of dev start releasing their apps into the store but the notion of Microsoft curates the store better than Google is not true. at most they're on the same level.
