Any tips on how to prevent this 3ROD from happen for the newcomers like me (play for about 2 hours and rest for half an hour?).

Why not u open the casing while playing next time. I mean only the left or the right side be open. Faceplate and back no need to open. So that more hot air can go out during playing more processing power game like GoW in order to avoid 3ROD from happen/again. Logic or not?
