IIRC that is what they asked. They will then ask for ur local phone number, in my case it was my HK mobile number. Then MS HK's outsourced company gave me a code and asked me to wait for 2 working days. This is for the replacement centre which is a shop to process the order.

After 2 days, i went to the shop in Wanchai. Exchanged 1 to 1 with the shop and then head back to hotel to play biggrin.gif

And yes, that particular small shop was MS's official replacement centre doh.gif

if your set manufacture date is less than a year, they will honour the warranty even if without receipt. just check at the back of your xbox for the manufacture date.

the most important for the caller (your relatives) is to convince them the caller tried everything already but still the machine is 3ROD. don't tell the tech support sometime can go into dashboard, just say 3ROD all the time. important is the caller must convince the tech support that the caller tried everything already, don't let the tech support say tried this and that then the caller call you back and ask you to try this and that. doh.gif

they exchange 1 to 1 on the spot. just need to bring the console only, detach everything from your xbox, including the HDD. after convince them your xbox really need to be replaced, if got stock they'll ask you to come in 2-3 days. if no stock might take until few weeks. they check for the MS SEAL infront the unit, so make sure yours still got em.

like the HK shop, a small shop lot was the MS's official replacement centre. sweat.gif

i think the small shop is not the MS' official replacement centre. many products company sub-contract their RMA services to that small office. and yeah, the replacement tested sets are always out of stock rclxub.gif rclxub.gif read bob. monsoon season is 3RoD retirement time sweat.gif sweat.gif

on another topic, do anyone remember some forumer talking about the 360 leaking some AC current? i think there was a previous discussion on that in one of the forums. is leaking = the power supply is not grounded?

Hi xxboxx, my xbox360 is manufactured in March 2006. So the replacement center in SG is also a small shop tongue.gif Did they give u a new set?

hm, wondering if we can discuss this situation with some of them bob gamers in SGP for help. as u know, SGP gamers get to claim warranty much easier if they claim the sets was bought by them (no SN registration/receipt necessary). i wonder if any of them gamer/technopreneur will open a RMA help service for a fee. there's even someone working at the service center posting at bob icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

Hi guys,

Sent my xbox360 to Andy TNL yesterday. Initially Andy told me they gonna try to fix it, but if cannot repair then that's it shocking.gif Then I told him mine is SG set, so couldn't they send to SG to claim warranty instead of fixing it locally. Furthermore I told him if they open the case (which will void the warranty) and cannot fix it, then I can't claim for warranty from MS SG later. Then he called his boss (i think) and later said they will send my set to SG for warranty claim.

He said it will take around 2 weeks, and he will give me a call when it's done. Sigh... hope can get it back by then.

Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope they keep their promise. Yah, better buy from reputable shops. Been reading about all these cases of 3ROD. The failure rate is quite high shakehead.gif Is it because MS is inexperience in designing/manufacturing hardware? MS gotta do something about this or else people would loose faith on them. Does PS3 has these issues?
