Damn sorry to hear that sauying.

That sucks. As for now I guess it's just a matter of time. My 360 just passed its one month mark...and as always, I say a prayer before I switch it on.

Damn you MICROSOFT! IMPROVE your manufacturing, please!

ghost: there are no local dealer 1 year warranties. All warranties for unmodded 360 units come from MS Singapore. Local dealers MAY provide 1 (or in the case of Gamers Hideout) 3 month warranties, but the repair works will always be done by MS as much as possible.

I hope this clarifies the issue.

OTOH for most of us 360 owners, it's not a question of the console - it's the games, and right now the 360 has tons of games and a kickass online service. No one can deny that.

Hear hear.

What will be, will be. Don't let it stop you from going where the GAMES are. For me, what's stopping me getting the other consoles is just money smile.gif but that can be worked on.

So though I still say a prayer every day before I switch on the 360 - don't waste time waiting. The games are here NOW!

Totally agree.

Djinn, if my 360 ROD and cannot repair you can rest assured I will buy the next one from you...if not, my fiance will kill me if she knows it died.

Same here la, but I have a nagging feeling I will still get a 360 even if mine ROD (sucker betul) because I'm addicted to the online component - I don't know if PS3 can offer that kind of seamlessness.

Eh? Based on manufacturing date?

Aiyo, if like that if someone bought a Nov 2005 (theoretically) unit last month, he or she is screwed?

And like my 360, manufactured date 12 April 06 that means the 1 year warranty only lasts till 12 April 07 even though my fiance bought it January 07?

If like that I am royally screwed. Oh shit.

Terra: That's what I was thinking, as IINM most warranty options begin from date of purchase, not date of manufacture. Of course, I DO realise this is MS.

Thanks for your info, though. This way I will be prepared if and when the dreaded rings visit me.

Hmm, it's strange that the USB port could be a cause - to be honest I haven't come across anything on the net that is similar to your case, I strongly suspect that it's the 360 itself rather than the USB contributing to it. The voltage sucked through USB is miniscule compared to what you could do if you used the Nyko, for example.

Just to share, my friend is now on his 3rd 360. Bought the first (mfg date 12 Feb 2006) from Imbi Mario, RODed after 6 months, sent to SG, they wanted to charge him RM 550 to fix it so he decided to just trade the xbox in and get a new one, the second unit (mfg date 22 Nov 2006) had graphical glitch, sent it back and exchanged for a third one (mfg date 31 October 2006).

Lol don't worry la gogo. Every gadget will have its share of risks - just be sure you're aware of them before you buy lah.

Gamers go where the games are. End of file. smile.gif

DAMN! I'm so sorry to hear that bro judge...and I was looking forward to seeing you on R6V and GRAW2 sad.gif

Yet another one falls....and our hot weather isn't helping either.

The sad thing is...if mine dies and I can't get it exchanged I probably would save up for another one sad.gif but that's gonna hurt also.

Come on la MS, throw us a bone here!
