How is your lens performing straight out of box?

Today went to lowyat and try a unit.
I didn't bring my d700 so the shop borrowed a d5200.
At f/1.4 it was kinda oof, even at f/2...centre is still oof.
worse than the 50mm 1.8E I had.

Asked whether got another unit, that ah beng gave an annoyed face.
Selling 3rd party lens but don't know 3rd party lenses famous issues

Now have to try with other sellers.
Luckily didn't buy online.

Anyone using D610? just notice that the image looks like a bit yellowish (yellow tint), is it normal for D610?

Dammit nikon, this should be the upgrade for D600! not the D610

Was hoping the body layout will be like D700/D800 but was disappointed. Guess D700 still relevant for sports and high action photo.

Hi sifus, wanna ask between 35mm and 50mm lens. Which one is the more preferable, practical lens to get?

fyi, im a student with small budget, planning to get a 2nd hand lens if possible. Currently using a D5100 with the 18-55mm kit lens for almost 3 years now. Mostly experimenting various styles of photography (landscape, portrait, macro, normal everyday shooting)

Any nikkor or non-nikkor lens to recommend? preferably below RM750. thanks

optical as long can trigger ok, just set manual on flash head...whether in sync or not have to see.
i use my fuji x10 before to trigger my nikon flashes also
