Hey, so recently i got myself a Nikon D5200 with kit lens 18-55mm And i went through alot of tutorials and tips on how to use it. But, even then. I still don't really know how to set the aperture , shutter speed and even the iso. And i would like to ask, normally when you're travelling. While walking through places what mode do you set your camera to? Because it would be difficult if its set to Manual mode then you gotta stop and set the settings then capture it. Lastly, is the 18-55mm kit lens enough for just normal shooting for sceneries? Mainly for travelling, and capturing buildings This post has been edited by ruitian97: Apr 14 2014, 10:31 PM

Anybody has some sample pictures using Tamron 18-200mm lens? I'm planning on getting one. Will it cause much blur as it doesn't have Vibration Reduction?(TRAVELLING PURPOSE) Is it ok just for auto mode?

I really dont understand anything about my camera exposure even after reading so many articles! LOL! I just cant understand
1)if i'm outdoors is there a default exposure i should set then adjust it from there onwards?
2)if suddenly the weather changes then it becomes alittle more cloudy what should i do?
3) how do you guys know what exposure is correct for the shot right away? or do you need to take a shot to know?

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jun 16 2014, 02:52 PM) If you want to shoot in manual mode, as mingyuyu sifu has mentioned, use the exposure meter to get your exposure right In genrral, Just make sure the level is at the centre I usually shoot in Aperture mode and leave the general exposure to the camera haha... save time i just really like those pretty pretty photos.. well somethings better to look only ! hahahaha

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jun 17 2014, 10:00 AM) Practice makes perfect bro Like you, I used to shoot using manual mode in the beginning as well (no thanks to so called "sifus" who misguided me). During that time I judged exposure by looking at the LCD, which was not very accurate, then only I've read about the in-built exposure meter haha Practice makes perfect yo~ I used to take a lot of lousy photos... at least now I take less of them now, been shooting like crazy Thanks for the info!! Gonna try more! Good luck to you too!
