I plan to buy 35mm lens, now I have kit lens 18-140mm for my d5300. now I want to buy grad ND filter. this lens has different thread size right? any one has suggestion which one lens is better with filter to capture landscape?
*
i suggest no need graduated filter la. just shoot RAW. if cant use 1 shot, then use bracketing.

Never realize I posted that many in the previous thread o.o

Btw, anyway to focus a 1.4 lens accurately a? Focus recompose using center point the focus always run away 1.

Only can use outer focus point le huh? ==

i think it's sharp n accurate for this picture(using centre focus point) Sigma 50mm 1.4 on D610. i usually use only middle focus point, since the other cross type focus point oso vy close to middle one, not much difference. besides, the outer focus points are less accurate , i dont feel safe using them.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 1 2014, 05:41 PM)
Focus recomposing is usually not accurate when your DOF is small oh  hmm.gif
Try manually selecting AF points? hmm.gif

Can try it using Liveview too if you need to "focus" on areas way outside the focusing area haha
*
yeah, can use liveview too, or face detection so that u no need recompose or select where to focus.

oh that's how to do it.. new info.. hmm.. if it's close, why not use liveview? thought it's slower n sometimes i find it blur. i think my handshake more on liveview.. doh.gif

Thanks for stopping by and looking at them haha  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
I think next time I'll just stick to the XE-2 liao laugh.gif Unless if there are a lot of flower shots to take like this Taiwan trip~
Almost died when climbing up mountains with my current gears haha  laugh.gif

Ahh, the timing has to be right.. and the worse thing is that different flowers don't always open at the same time of the year T___T
*
u bought xe2 oso?

Not neccesarily an XE-2 la haha, but mots people love the image quality of Fujifilm cameras~ And not to mention the retro design XD

And yeap, that's what I've been telling a lot of enthusiasts currently using DX machines  laugh.gif , sooner or later people will still turn to mirrorless because of the portability laugh.gif If he/she can just skip the FF part, can save a lot of money yo~

I'm sure many (including me) joined the world of FF because we were curious to see see how well a FF performs. And at the end of the day, I guess most will learn that its really the skills that matters. And its not like mirrorless cameras are bad haha, they offer great performance for the portability- a balanced machine that many are willing to sacrifice ergonomics/ruggedness for~

This is just my opinion la haha, though I think its logical hmm.gif
Having said that, I'm still keeping my D800 for my macro shots, definitely will need the weather sealing and ruggedness when I enter the forests  laugh.gif
*
entered the FF world, then i saw what the DX cant do. and i actually do think that skill really matters, bt gears are important as well. especially when i was shooting in i-city, where some shots were impossible for me to take with a d5100.

QUOTE(ongdennis @ Apr 4 2014, 01:51 PM)
after go to big n heavy camera...then find out go travel is killing... flex.gif
and then start to look for something small...
*
lucky we took d600 d610 ones..that day i used d610 + sigma 50 1.4 + nissin di622m2, my fingers were about to give way. drool.gif

[That's why =PF T.J.,Apr 4 2014, 03:34 PM]
True true haha thumbup.gif
Yeah, that was what I first thought haha laugh.gif But then that time mirrorless camera and their technologies weren't that advance hmm.gif
Right now they are quite capable already, which is why many FF users decided to get a mirrorless camera as a secondary camera, or switched completely to mirrorless system laugh.gif

Hmm, I have to disagree haha, we can try and ask some sifus here, give him/her the D5100 and ask him/her to take nice photos in i-city... I don't think it will be a problem for them laugh.gif More work yes, but definitely not impossible ~
Speaking of i-city... after 1 year talking I still haven't gone there haihsss... very unmotivated T____T
*

[/quote]

Thats why I say for me I can't take photos at icity at some particular place where lighting is really insufficient. I need to bump to iso8000 with a 1.8 lens. ><

Your landscape shots are really superb! haha... I don't think I can ever get photos like that  drool.gif

Oh... sorry about that haha, just accepted your request man!
Pai sei ya... I don't really like to accept requests from people I don't know: lesson learnt already, last time many macro shooters just added me to tag me every day on their photos  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
yeah i saw u being tag in ppl's photos.. all macro.. bt i still like ur macro shots. skill level = asian.

So I did another research on the net and found out that the extra 2 years warranty is worth around RM300 in US...
http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Nikon-Products/...-(2-Years).html

I will probably be buying my first dslr, D3300 at Nikon Store KLCC. Anything to watch out for when buying? Btw, Think Tank bag really looks very nice and pro and look more like a business bag than a camera bag compared to other camera brands.  rclxm9.gif
*
the nikon tripod shakehead.gif better go buy another one. it's just as poor as other plasticy tripod out there.

Didnt delete and reformatted.
Just search through, will liveview/ recording causes the shutter count to increase ?

p.s : do the shutter count really care alot to u guys?
*
guess u deleted in-camera then. it works the same way. lets say u shot two shots, then delete the 2nd shot, so , ur camera will make another file of the same name.

QUOTE(Silverfire @ Apr 11 2014, 02:19 AM)
Correction, after closer scrutiny its really a 5DM2 laugh.gif

hw u noe la? i guess the lens is a 2470?

Thank you everyone for your input.

I was just checking out the prices on 50mm lenses and noticed the differences in prices. what gives? also what are the differences between the D and G?

Would be great if the sifu here can share some insight  biggrin.gif  hehe

Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF ~MYR400
Nikon 50mm f/1.8G AF-S ~ MYR700+

Nikon 50mm f/1.4D AF ~MYR1000
Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S ~MYR1800+
*
i used 50mm 1.8D, 50mm 1.8G and sigma 50mm 1.4 before.
and i have to say i love my siggy 50mm 1.4. it's sharp and that bokeh will make ppl think u're using full frame. thumbup.gif
bt for indoor shots, using a 50mm is quite hard though

Still, will try and upload higher res next time haha~  notworthy.gif

The 23mm is very popular among the Fuji users haha, should try that one out  laugh.gif
*
yeah i guess cz it has similar angle of the 35mm on the FF. whereas 35mm would be a little similar like 50mm on a FF. hmmm.. bt 23mm more costly and less bokeh >.<

if there's another lens i'd like to add, it's either the 85mm 1.8g or the 70-200 f2.8 tamron macro.
Which is a better choice?
