QUOTE(ongdennis @ Apr 21 2014, 05:35 PM) at the end it sell off all and keep only 50mm f1.8g, so far the best i would say but if u using this on DX body, suggest you get 35mm f1.8g for greater view coverage. the 50mm on dx is very very tight... on dx i also like 50mm over 35mm...cos thru viewfinder the 35mm just looks weird. like fov is 50mm, but the things all look smaller |

QUOTE(3antz @ Apr 21 2014, 01:23 PM) Hi guys, in your opinion what would be the two ideal lenses (1 spare and 1 fixed to cam) you would bring to a vacation? if DX, 18-300 and 24mm...tho i dont have either of those lenses...and if i go vacation i bring a very good compact instead I'm currently using the default 18-55mm lense. Photos taken during the day has very crisp colors but not for the ones taking during the night. I understand this could probably due to my lack of skills but just curious what do you guys typically bring to a vacation. |

QUOTE(MichaelJohn @ Apr 30 2014, 05:52 PM) Thinking of adding another lens for my D90.Standard zoom f/2.8 cheaper go tamron 17-50.Does the 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED seem a good choice or do I have to wait for people to scream 24-70mm f/2.8 (Which I can use for FX if I so desire to jump) at my face again? but 17-55 is good if u got the money, used around rm3k. buy for the now...maybe later u dont go FX? maybe go Fuji? |

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Jun 9 2014, 01:08 PM) Ok. Is there an equivalent 17-55 range on DX for mirrorless? for m43, pana 12-35/2.8, oly 14-40/2.8.closest in terms of DoF is a 4/3 oly 14-35/2.0. |

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Jun 10 2014, 01:16 PM) I guess nowadays not many into DX lenses and some more 3rd party lenses are cheaper with pretty decent performance too. i been monitoring the 17-55 prices cos i think i wanna sell mine off...then use the money direct buy a GX7.Good find on the Oly 14-35mm f/2.0. But did you check the price and size / weight of that thing? My 14-24mm f/2.8 is cheaper and about the same weight as the Oly 14-35mm f/2.0. So you want to put this on a small body? The thing is a lot of people jump into something without really checking out what they are getting into. Yeah, generally weight is lighter and size is smaller but you sacrifice quality which many don't see. If when you want to get back the quality and equivalent performance as your former DSLR, you're screwed with the weight and size of the lens and burns a hole in the pocket on the way. BTW, the Oly 14-35mm f/2.0 equivalent in 35mm FX is 28-70mm while the 17-55mm f/2.8 equivalent in 35mm FX is 25.5-82.5mm. The Nikon is still wider and longer. and yes that oly is huge, but its a 4/3...ie. the bigger bodies...not m4/3 like the current ones. and actually the quality of m43 is pretty decent now...obviously lose out in DoF...but its still pretty decent with the primes on offer like the crowd favs of 25/1.4, 45/1.8 and 75/1.8. the noise control are also getting better... u should go try one...quality wise it should past most ppl's criteria unless those who are doing high fashion where every detail counts...and of cos fast action stuff. QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jun 13 2014, 11:07 AM) Thank you man! 2500 also can be printed up to A4 size la...poster print also can...depending also what paper / canvas is used.Still a lot to improve in terms of flash diffusion Thanks man~ Yeah, I always post process my photos; just a matter of how much I apply haha I always reduce my photo sizes to 2500 pixels (fixed ratio) to save bandwidth and also to deter photo theft (some subjects I'm photographing are quite uncommon; I never upload those that are extraordinary rare). Of course, it is very hard to stop photo theft, but at least they will not be getting the original, full quality shots. I noticed Flickr tends to add a little bit of sharpening to your photos, so try not to sharpen too much haha |

QUOTE(exquisite_markas @ Sep 12 2014, 01:32 PM) i lookat it this way...D610 is like FX version of D7100. D750 is like bastardized FX version of D5300 meets D7100. only saviour now is a D9000 / D400 / whatever its gonna be called if it ever comes out |

QUOTE(Mussolini @ Sep 12 2014, 01:59 PM) Hi sifus, wanna ask between 35mm and 50mm lens. Which one is the more preferable, practical lens to get? since u say macro, so 40mm...can be used for normal shooting also.fyi, im a student with small budget, planning to get a 2nd hand lens if possible. Currently using a D5100. Mostly experimenting various styles of photography (landscape, portrait, macro, normal everyday shooting) Any nikkor or non-nikkor lens to recommend? thanks but obviously its f/2.8...then again that shouldnt matter too much...still ok la. |

QUOTE(c010 @ Sep 15 2014, 10:55 AM) D750 is still consider the entry level FX camera, therefore Nikon is not placing everything into this body. Not to mention it is one of the lightest FX camera. Does AF-ON button really make so much difference? i always set the AE Lock to AF-ON and it works just fine. Guess 1/4000 vs 1/8000's difference is insignificant unless you are taking close up motor sports. Otherwise 1/4000 is more than enough. To compensate my fact, please check all your photos, how many were shot at 1/8000? i use AF-ON as AF the way its meant to be used I think D750 will sell like hot cake. Imagine with its price tag lower than a D800, you have the image processor of EXPEED 4, built in wifi, better metering sensor which allow you to take much better low light photo, faster continuous shooting, tilt LCD and a lot more which you can't find any in the market with its price tag. sure i can always set the AE Lock button to AF-ON, but its stretching the thumb unnaturally...especially not comfortable if u holding it for long periods. 1/8000s for some ppl is useful especially if they want to shoot wide open in bright sunlight...rather than dropping to f/2.8 etc. This post has been edited by Everdying: Sep 15 2014, 01:13 PM |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Oct 15 2014, 11:16 PM) Need advise. canon flashes have no optical trigger right? If I were to use Nikon D750 and would like to retain my Canon flash - what's the best way to trigger them? If not, does anyone of you know which brand of 3rd party flash (eg Phottix, Nissin, Metz) can response to Nikon CLS? cheapest option is to buy those optical slave hotshoe triggers, then set the nikon flash to su4 mode to trigger it...at least in theory it should work most 3rd party flashes can respond to nikon TTL. cheapest of the lot is probably the yongnuo. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Oct 16 2014, 02:24 PM) has optical, don't think it works with other brand signals. optical as long can trigger ok, just set manual on flash head...whether in sync or not have to see.will check out the other brands. Phottix now has Mitros+ to consider. i use my fuji x10 before to trigger my nikon flashes also |
