Any Sigma 35mm F1.4 A owner here?
How is your lens performing straight out of box?

Today went to lowyat and try a unit.
I didn't bring my d700 so the shop borrowed a d5200.
At f/1.4 it was kinda oof, even at f/2...centre is still oof.
worse than the 50mm 1.8E I had. shakehead.gif

Asked whether got another unit, that ah beng gave an annoyed face.
Selling 3rd party lens but don't know 3rd party lenses famous issues doh.gif

Now have to try with other sellers.
Luckily didn't buy online.

I have dropped my idea to buy Sigma 35mm F1.4 A.
Sticking with general zoom lens would be much more convenient, most of the time just picture of mechanical keyboard stuff.

Are you sure you're sacrificing just ergonomics/ruggedness? What about quality?
After that, you'd start going back to full frame.  tongue.gif

For me, a small body plus quality would be (and should be) nothing short of something like the Sony's A7R or the fixed RX1R.
Try set focus manually. Depending on how it was set, 3D tracking can jump from one focus point to another focus point depending.
Congrats. Can never go wrong with the Nikon 24-70. Staple diet lens.  biggrin.gif

Agreed biggrin.gif
But have a little problem here, since it is 2nd hand...the zoom ring is a bit stiff especially from 35mm to 24mm.
It happens when lens facing towards, or upwards because the barrel is coming out.
Still have 3 month warranty, do Nikon service center even charge it?

During post process, do you guys usually crop the photos or leave it as it is? I find that sometimes remove like 10% of the top/btm/sides makes the photo looks a bit uneven. Or is that normal?
*
if follow the aspect ratio should be "normal"
or because you feel something has been cut, so you feel abnormal.

What a bad day.
My D700 CF Card compartment went kaputt already. The messages shows at top lcd was CHA error.

Asked Nikon and get quoted for RM 1,400 to service because to change the "whole board".

I did not hand it to them yet, but is there any other shops recommended to have my D700 get serviced ?
I know Shashinki, will be calling them later. Just want to look for cheaper alternatives. cry.gif
