Never realize I posted that many in the previous thread o.o

Btw, anyway to focus a 1.4 lens accurately a? Focus recompose using center point the focus always run away 1.

Only can use outer focus point le huh? ==
*
Focus recomposing is usually not accurate when your DOF is small oh hmm.gif
Try manually selecting AF points? hmm.gif

Can try it using Liveview too if you need to "focus" on areas way outside the focusing area haha

Nice phone there mate! notworthy.gif
New one? brows.gif
I think your photo lacks a main focus, as in I'm not sure what you are trying to show with your photo if I didn't read your title
Next time try to use a clean background (remove the other phone, headset and Nikon bag), or blur out the background altogether with large apertures (either shoot at max focal length @F5.6, OR any short focal length @F3.5), so that the focus will be on the phone and box itself nod.gif

I'm truly sorry with those background stuff. Randomly snap some pic and start with editing using LR. I will improvise the shot next time . thanks alot of the comments  notworthy.gif alot to learn
shocking.gif  ya ar? that bad? cry.gif
*
Don't worry man, my 1st few thousand photos were very bad as well haha laugh.gif
You'll slowly learn about composition, lighting and post-processing along the way~
In fact, its good that you have already started using LR while you learn your photography, more efficient thumbup.gif

I don't have any phone shots T___T
But I do have some camera shots. Just for your reference, I'm still pretty noob at this:

Try to use Spoiler tags for long replies ya bro icon_rolleyes.gif
So to keep things less messy laugh.gif

Ohh... that one was just fooling around with the colors..
Based on what I've learnt, sometimes it feels nicer to have the same colors in a photo of a product e.g. The Olympus is red so I choose red background lights; Sony NEX is pink so I picked pink-coloured, girly stuffs rclxub.gif

alot to learn still  rclxub.gif
composition and lighting is something new to me. Need to read and try out more  sweat.gif
*
Take your time to learn bro, eventually will become great like the sifus here thumbup.gif
Don't worry too much about advanced lighting first, that can come later~
As for composition, for a start, don't put your subject at the middle of a photo, put on the sides instead ~

just wondering, post processing is it important? for my level now (newbie) , i think i should focus more onto getting better shots than editing. isnt it?  smile.gif
*
I think post-processing has become an essential part of photography already nod.gif
The higher you go, the more processing work you'll learn and apply hmm.gif

Its very hard to produce a photo that stands out without any post-processing nod.gif

This is also one of the reasons why Adobe is being sued for "distorting reality" laugh.gif But this is life la haha... we all love Pacific Rim right? lol

so do u really need it? good one is not cheap...that is what i feel

Same here hmm.gif
I think you only need it only if you're very particular about the final result haha laugh.gif
And its better to buy only when you are sure you will be sticking to that same lens thumbup.gif

Saw your photos of your taiwan trip.. awesome shot..

I was wondering how did you do the effect for like vintage feel.. not sure how to describe but is like yellow, greenish feel to all the photos.. mind share the process of it?

For example the last photo with your SB700, the grainny feel to it..  nod.gif  nod.gif

Side question : what camera stand is that? looking for one with light weight for my upcoming trip~
*
Thanks for taking your time to look at the photos mate notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
If you want to see the full album, with descriptions and itinerary, do feel free to add me on FaceBook haha~ Was too lazy to retype captions for Flickr laugh.gif

Ahh, I've been trying to learn this effect for quite some time too haha... asked around but no one seems to know or want to help T___T

Its very simple actually haha, you simply need to (Lightroom 5) pull the left end of the tone curve up.. that will make the black color lighter (should be able to get similar effect by increasing the "Blacks" bar just below "Whites"), thus giving the effect , at the same time (depending on the amount of light in your photo), you decrease "Highlights", "Shadows" and "Whites".
After this, do some minor tweaks until you get the effect you want icon_rolleyes.gif Can adjust "Temps" and "Tints" too, usually I will increase the Yellows by a bit

I usually like to increase the Hues of Yellow and Green by a bit (~+5-+10) if there are greeneries (tree, bush etc.) in the shot. This of course, depends on your personal preference, I prefer greenish photos over yellow... At this time I only know how to really tweak Yellows and Greens, still practising with other colors icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry if unclear haha, its a bit hard to generalize laugh.gif
Different photos will require different "magnitude" of tweaking haha... takes time to learn and apply

Same question I want to ask him. The stand is Sirui if I not mistake.  smile.gif
*
Good eyes mate!
Its a 1.7kg SIRUI, I've purposely chose this one because its light, small, sturdy, and at the same time doesn't cost a bomb like Carbon Fibre ones do haha laugh.gif
I love this tripod~ Only weakness is that it cannot reach very tall height, probably around 140-150cm only, which is not bad la haha

Ya been there last year where I still don't own a DSLR yet, using DC and relying my friend to take those good shot.
and that's the time it got me hooked up in photography, and here I am, burning time and money to learn to take good photos... haha

Yup, super friendly locals, nice food and place, but I went there on Winter, so... RAIN~  rclxub.gif still nice experience thou, especially the ladies..

So now I'm preparing my skills and gear for Japan in May..

ah, the highlights, shadows and whites.. I try to do this with temp and tints and its look ugly..
Later try it on some expo shot I had..

same I also used to edit photo 1 by 1 with different settings to suit each condition of the photos... but time consuming..

Sirui which model?
*
Ahh, nice profile pic haha XD
Wow, didn't know Taiwan had such a huge impact in your quest for photography haha thumbup.gif
I'm sure you'll take way better photos now thumbup.gif
Japan's very beautiful during this time right? Nice yo hehe~

For the highlights, shadows and whites, I usually decrease them if the photo is under bright sunlight. If indoors, then increase them haha Sorry missed out just now laugh.gif But again, how much to tweak varies between photos ya~

It took me 10 days to finish editing my 10-days Taiwan trip photos too hehe, but its totally worth it la~

I can't remember the exact model haha, but its under this series:
