This thread lacks macro shots

Shots taken at FRIM, unfortunately there was still not a lot of wildlife at the moment. Not sure whether its because of the recent dry season or because FRIM sprayed the entire place

"Creativephoto" for example, is not exactly very popular based on comments here haha

Shot 1 and 3 were take quite close (~5cm-6cm) since the subjects are not known to move/flee

Well, all macro shots you see out there are cropped kao kao one haha.
Otherwise the DoF will be too shallow if you go too near

Yes, using extension tubes will greatly decrease the focal point of a lens. With a normal 50mm lens and 3 extension tubes attached, you will need to get to ~4cm to get in focus

Speaking of the 50mm lens... I think I might let go of my 50mm F1.8g later lol, underutilized

Ya, its not very useful when outdoors since most insect moves/ wind blows lol T_____T
Most people who shoot with focus stacking requires ideal conditions, so most will chill/kill the insects before shooting, which I think is rather cruel just for photos

I think the model could "stick her neck" out a bit more so that it doesn't make her look fat
Its one of the rules of modeling iirc, read it in a book once haha

I think for this photo maybe can stamp away the "wrinkles" of the neck?

Just my noob suggestion la haha, I don't really know much about portraits, but I do know girls hate it as long as they see something that make them look fat, even if they are already fat

Its so nice already, dunno what to add on already haha, maybe wait until I become more pro only can give more constructive criticisms haha

I think this shot could use some improvements
Just some of my noob comments, I don't really know too much about portraits:

- there are some rubbish in the background, I think can be clone away lol
- there is a small triangular thing on her forearm, can be cloned too
- not sure whether you intend for the model to look as natural as possible; but usually I would smoother her face and removing freckles/pimples/wrinkles (and usually girls will appreciate it haha)
- The angle could be better for that particular pose: it looks like the leg suddenly "pop out" from her head
- I think the bokeh might not be that nice for this shot.. perhaps can choose a better background so that you can get super creamy bokeh?

Weird, it still looks okay here (possibly because I'm only using HD+) haha, albeit rather noisy since I shot at high ISO haha

And I love the spiral road in the 2nd shot

Not sure whether long exposure shots can be stitched or not haha, otherwise it would be perfect
Or if you should with UWA, then everything will be in- perfect also ~~
