smile.gif No la, Taiwan > Friend's awesome shot > jealous > wanted to be the cool kid > buy DSLR > rust at home > still cool and learning from every opportunity I have..  tongue.gif
well now should be decent gua.. at least I know how to work on ISO x Aperture x Shutter Speed x EV~ Still learning composition and framing and editing..
Erm, April is sakura blossom, I go on May, and from my homework's data, is has nothing there at that time.. weather is around 20-25 ish.. so, is still unknown on what I can find that time..

You went for vacation and take photos using RAW? I was wondering is my 3 x 8gb class 6 memory enough or not..  hmm.gif

10 days is fast for those quality, well practice more to improve efficiency.

Rm700...  cry.gif
*
Haha, you are being humble man laugh.gif
At least you don't just buy and shelf it without using it at all, and that's good enough~
Can la, your photos are good ma~

Well, it doesn't have to be flowering season, the culture/environment etc. there alone will already make your shots stand out since we don't often get to see shots like that, so don't worry too much haha~ Enjoy the moment! thumbup.gif

Yeah, I always shoot in RAW haha... especially during trips oh, keep as memory ^___^ I don't get to go vacation that often also lol

Maybe can try to review, filter and delete photos during the trip, so that you have more space + don't have to filter them at one go after you're back from the trip icon_rolleyes.gif

Ehh... I bought for ~RM300 something only bro laugh.gif

Thanks for stopping by and looking at them haha notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
I think next time I'll just stick to the XE-2 liao laugh.gif Unless if there are a lot of flower shots to take like this Taiwan trip~
Almost died when climbing up mountains with my current gears haha laugh.gif

Ahh, the timing has to be right.. and the worse thing is that different flowers don't always open at the same time of the year T___T

so conclusion is, when u get a d800, u'll later get a xe2. haha.
*
Not neccesarily an XE-2 la haha, but mots people love the image quality of Fujifilm cameras~ And not to mention the retro design XD

And yeap, that's what I've been telling a lot of enthusiasts currently using DX machines laugh.gif , sooner or later people will still turn to mirrorless because of the portability laugh.gif If he/she can just skip the FF part, can save a lot of money yo~

I'm sure many (including me) joined the world of FF because we were curious to see see how well a FF performs. And at the end of the day, I guess most will learn that its really the skills that matters. And its not like mirrorless cameras are bad haha, they offer great performance for the portability- a balanced machine that many are willing to sacrifice ergonomics/ruggedness for~

This is just my opinion la haha, though I think its logical hmm.gif
Having said that, I'm still keeping my D800 for my macro shots, definitely will need the weather sealing and ruggedness when I enter the forests laugh.gif

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Apr 4 2014, 02:21 PM)
entered the FF world, then i saw what the DX cant do. and i actually do think that skill really matters, bt gears are important as well. especially when i was shooting in i-city, where some shots were impossible for me to take with a d5100.
lucky we took d600 d610 ones..that day i used d610 + sigma 50 1.4 + nissin di622m2, my fingers were about to give way.  drool.gif
*
Yeah, that was what I first thought haha laugh.gif But then that time mirrorless camera and their technologies weren't that advance hmm.gif
Right now they are quite capable already, which is why many FF users decided to get a mirrorless camera as a secondary camera, or switched completely to mirrorless system laugh.gif

Hmm, I have to disagree haha, we can try and ask some sifus here, give him/her the D5100 and ask him/her to take nice photos in i-city... I don't think it will be a problem for them laugh.gif More work yes, but definitely not impossible ~
Speaking of i-city... after 1 year talking I still haven't gone there haihsss... very unmotivated T____T

Once you use say the X-E2, you will appreciate how good the D800 sensor is sweat.gif . I always took it for granted until I started using back APS-C like X-E2 lol.
*
Ahh, I know what you mean haha laugh.gif
I've actually had an Olympus Tough TG2 for a short while, and really cannot tahan lol, can't shoot RAW summore...
I think XE-2 will do fine la haha laugh.gif The relatively lower IQ is anticipated already ma haha laugh.gif

Wah, 2nd house some more brows.gif
Are you based in Penang? Did you went and see our own Malaysian Sakura? It was all over the news haha thumbup.gif

Yeah, your landscape shots could use some improvements haha... I myself is not good at landscape shots too, since it requires both skill and equipment to get good ones hmm.gif
Usually for landscape shots you have to pick strategic places where you can properly compose your shots, with proper leading lines so that the resulting shot will be more attractive hmm.gif And of course, the weather has to be good as well haha... Most people take landscape photos during the golden hours- when the sun rises/sets.. that's when you will get the most colours out of the skies- very beautiful, especially if you have a camera with good dynamic range - a DSLR, which you already have brows.gif

Just have to wake up early/ eat dinner late, then you'll get the shot thumbup.gif

Anyways, not exactly a landscape shot haha, but a panorama:

Hmmmm, it's the first and only ultra wide i'd owned, don't think I can comment much on it, nor have I anything to compare it to.

But overall quite nice for the price la, center of the frame mostly sharp across all aperture at wider angles, corner quite sharp already once stopped down to f8 or f11.

The only thing I don't like about its color, not really sure how to put it, it's green is rather strange. AF-MF clutch is a bit annoying too.

You can see the pictures I took with it in my flickr, most of them hdr though  biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ThE-1cY @ Apr 8 2014, 05:48 PM)
Guys, I'm going to buy my first dslr, Nikon D3300, did some survey around the city, can help me to decide which place to buy?  icon_question.gif

Nikon store KLCC: RM 2198 (3 years warranty, 8gb sd card, Nikon dslr bag and N-70 tripod)
Fotokem: RM 1999 (1 year warranty, 8gb sd card and Nikon dslr bag)
Harvey Norman: RM 1950 (1 year warranty, 8gb sd card and Nikon dslr bag)
J-one (AmCorp Mall): RM 1920 (1 year warranty, 8gb sd card, Nikon dslr bag, screen protector and a tripod that is not so compatible with dslr?)
DC Pro Cam (AmCorp Mall): RM1900 (1 year warranty, 8gb sd card and Nikon dslr bag)

The Nikon KLCC one looks tempting to me because of the extra 2 years warranty, the Nikon tripod and a peace of mind that everything is going to be 100% original. So I want to ask does the extra 2 years warranty worth the money? Does a Nikon dslr break down easily within 1-3 years? I couldn't find any information about the N-70 tripod on Nikon's website. Is it a good tripod?

Btw, I'm thinking of buying a messenger bag, Think Tank Urban Disguise 60 V2.0 bag for my dslr, laptop, chargers, documents and books. J-one quoted RM590. Is it too overkill for such a cheapo entry level dslr?  unsure.gif

In the meantime, any D3300 user around here? How does this camera compare to its competitors? Can share your experience in shooting family, pet photos, etc and whether it's good enough for a user coming from Ipad camera like me?  rolleyes.gif
*
Welcome welcome~

The D3300 is definitely up to the task nod.gif
Can consider the D3200 and D5200 as well if you want, should be cheaper, without too much difference in performance thumbup.gif
Personally I've never seen any DSLRs breakdown within 3 years hmm.gif Most are very well built... and if you are really unlucky to get a lemon unit, you should be able to notice the faults within the 1st few weeks, which is still within the 1 year warranty period icon_rolleyes.gif

Perhaps you can try and ask "digitalfm14" in garage sales and also bro Yannick here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Yannick-Came...7834827?fref=ts
I buy everything from Yannick because of his good service thumbup.gif

As for the bag, I think its too expensive for that DSLR, you could buy a 50mm prime lens already for that price! laugh.gif
I don't think you need to spend so much on the bag, around RM100-200 already can get a great one icon_rolleyes.gif
