hope there's Google play there, but u doubt it. They'll probably be using their MQS streaming services like the AK240 to milk more money.

Already saw it in the local Sony store, but didn't really play around it by much. As I have saved enough money, I decided to move up the ladder and get the Z2 instead.

On a serious note, if this upgrading from AK is going to be a yearly Samsung like thing, we are dead.

Nope my preference still isn't into portables, for the time being. LOL

I agree on that statement, portable setups come up way too often. I think it is barely 2 years and A&K have way too many models and revisions over this period in which the original AK100 was their own mistake for putting that 22 ohm output impedance.

Then came the AK120 to correct that mistake, then the MK2 fixed the original OI on the AK100.

If it becomes this yearly Samsung like thing, I think it is going to put alot of people off. Hopefully after this two come out they will slow it down abit.

Last night when I saw the Calyx M's more or less finalised specs, I was thinking to myself, why don't I get this instead and abandon the AK ship. But yea. I will see out this AK120 Titan that I have first and see how it goes from there and how the DAP scene is like when its time for me to buy my next DAP.

Lol from what I read, AK100 and 120 2nd gen plays DSD64 natively but PCM for DSD128. I have a feeling native playing for DSD128 will be implemented via firmware in the future.
But I'm really tempted now dammit lol

At that price, I would not be bothered with the AK120 II already and if I were to upgrade, I would just go for the AK240.

Nah, can't use Euro to compare with us for dollar to dollar. We usually follow USD or closer to the Won, and based on past trend when it's 1,799 Euro it'll be around 1,799 USD
Just like AK240 selling for around USD 2,500, in Europe it goes for around Euro 2,500 as well.
Those poor Euro folks have it tough.

If using USD, it should be around USD 1,799. Seeing the Korean price is 1,980,000 Won = 1,930 USD, it's around that price i guess
