one of my bettas has gone to watery heaven and i'm looking for a replacement.

is the red wash very prominent?
if it's not too much, I wouldn't mind as I'm more of a collector than a breeder.

I currently have 1 male super delta, 1 male gold PK, 1 male red CT, 1 turqoise male BT, 1 male VT, and 4 fries (3 platinum white & 1 turqoise. I think they're about a month old). and I actually want more!!!! hahaha!

if the betta looks ok (no red wash) from normal angle but when light shines on it and from a certain angle you can see some kind of red wash, is it considered red wash?

better have an idea what betta you want before visiting yew lin.
otherwise you will be super pening.

u better not breed those.
breeding a good pair or a cheap pair takes the same amount of effort.
since it's just as tedious, might as well invest in a good pair.

i know how you feel, newbie so want to experiment cheap one.
but later you will be disappointed with the result.
cos u dunno the betta parentage.
better get from a good breeder like yew lin.
at least he can tell you the bettas bloodline, grandfather, grandmother story, the geno it carries, etc.
it will be more rewarding.
and ask him for his top pair.
a bit more mahal but definitely worth it when you spawn.
(imagine hundreds of fries, so your investment/ROI will be worth more than the [RM100/whatever price you pay] you will spend on the betta)

it really depends on you.
as much space as you are willing to spare.

americans like to keep theirs in a gallon tank (3.8 litres).
INV said that gallon tanks give more space for the betta and you get to see more of their character cos they have more space to explore.

If you don't have much space, get half a gallon.
That also, some people say is a mansion for the betta.

I use a variety of guppy tanks.
the cheapest and smallest is around RM3.50.

inv, you can tell the sex when so young ah?
i tried but very susah to spot in the young ones.
